THE
I am a reporter with a unique beat. I use my understanding of planetary cycles to provide advance notice and analysis on the Zeitgeist of the day. If you have ever wondered “why is this happening now,” my insights will transform your experience of the headlines, adding new meaning and understanding. Call it Astrology for News Junkies. If you’re curious to know why the Impossible Burger is trending…or why the outcome of the 2019 Israeli elections was likely to be a shocker …or why “Woodrow Wilson, Stud Muffin” was a New York Times headline in December 2013, you will find it here, in over a decade’s worth of historical research and reporting.
Note that I do use astrological jargon in The Forecast in my effort to show how the planetary patterns are reflected in mundane events. I explain what the jargon symbolizes, so that all who want to understand the connections between astrology and the news may do so. However, I do not use astrological jargon in personal consultations, just plain English.

Astro-logical Forecast for May 30 2012: Chance of Afternoon Thunderstorms
/in The ForecastMoon enters relationship-oriented Libra at 6:46AM ET, shifting the need of the day to justice, fairness, balance and — oh, wouldn’t it be nice if those people-pleasing efforts were appreciated, fuhgawdsake? That’s a broad and patently irreverent summation of the potential flow of this day: everything going all nice and smooth in perfect harmony…and then — surprise — around 7:56PM ET or sooner, the equilibrium is disrupted, perhaps because Venus is retrograde and someone forgot to say, “please” and “thank you”. Will it evolve into the surreal, like those clever “get rid of cable” commercials currently airing on TV? With aggressive Mars in perfectionist Virgo challenging mental Mercury in glib Gemini at 8:20PM ET, impassioned speech and ideas — possibly leading to a verbal outburst — may be on the horizon as the evening unfolds. But there’s no need for your house to explode. Keep up with planetary patterns and you can be a centered observer in the middle of any storm.
P.S.
/in The ForecastFor those receiving the forecast via email: Yes, I know it is now Tuesday, May 29th. Error corrected, as forecast. Have a fabulous day! : )
Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 5/29/2012: I Can See Clearly Now
/in The ForecastOK, break’s over. Back to work — with the energetic efficiency suggested by a feisty hook up between proactive Mars and Moon in perfectionist Virgo. Last week — and some of the weekend — was a bit spacey, with all that nebulous Neptune energy in the air. I wouldn’t be surprised if you found a few snafus made then that need to be corrected now.
Meanwhile, a challenge between Moon and loving Venus (still retrograde) at 1:44PM T suggests good vibes — especially with women. A creative connection between Venus and Uranus — exact on Wednesday — is not to be missed, especially if you’re in need of innovation. Put your thinking cap on!
Your voids for the work week are practically nil for US time zones — but here they are, for folks reading this overseas: Wednesday 1:50AM – 6:46AM ET; Thursday 9:31PM ET – Friday 8:31AM ET.
Finally, for those who have asked, I will be back from this most excellent astrology conference later this week — and available for consultations on Monday.
Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 5/28/2012: Thanks for the Memories
/in The ForecastIllusions, ideals, inspiration and fantasy — who knows what kind of escape your dreams may have taken you on while you were sleeping. Moon entered perfectionist Virgo at 2:06AM ET and is challenged by nebulous Neptune at 7:46AM ET, so take note of your waking thoughts. An easy connection between Sun and innovative Uranus continues to support the theme of visionary and revolutionary thinking and communication — set by the New Moon on May 20th. And this afternoon we may see a challenge to those new patterns, which the Virgo Moon can refine and reorganize to its heart’s content.
Virgo is also a sign of service, and as this is officially Memorial Day in the United States, it offers a proper and dignified energy which can be constructively applied to remembering those who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Did you know this holiday dates back to the end of the Civil War, and that it used to be called Decoration Day? According to Wikipedia, by the turn of the 20th Century, many families observed Memorial Day by visiting graves of all (deceased) relatives, not just those who died in service.
In my family, decorating the graves of our ancestors with bright red geraniums is a ritual started by my grandmother many years ago. We load up the back of the Jeep with a few dozen hardy plants, a trowel and topsoil in preparation for the annual World Cemetery Tour, which now covers four cemeteries on backcountry roads connecting two New England towns. The cows always seem happy to see us. I believe our ancestors are happy to see us, too.
Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 5/25/12 and the Weekend: Rose-Tint My Fun-Lovin’ World
/in The ForecastA void of course Moon in Cancer begins at 10:34AM ET and carries us through the whole business day — not to enter Leo until 6:11AM ET. If you didn’t get it off your desk yesterday, be prepared for unexpected twists and detours if you’re trying to move swiftly in a straight line. The potential for communication snafus is also higher than usual, courtesy of a challenge between nebulous Neptune and mental Mercury. On the plus side, you may find opportunities for creative brainstorming, as long as you can be flexible with your schedule. Go with the flow! If you’re new to the forecast and don’t know what a void of course Moon is, check out the forecast posted on February 10, 2012.
Once Moon enters royal Leo, the party mood sets in, kicking off a festive holiday weekend here in the States. Enjoy the fun on Saturday — with or without the rose-tinted glasses suggested by patterns that are particularly idealistic. More easy flow on Sunday, with a special nod to innovative ideas and communication, brought to you by a smooth connection between rebel Uranus and Mercury. How will this tie in with your New Moon agenda, which highlights visionary shifts in words and ideas? And what challenge to that agenda will you note on Monday around 4:16PM ET, suggested by the First Quarter Moon? Eh…worry about it on Monday. On Sunday, the fun-loving Leo Moon goes void on an exuberant, indulgent connection to expansive Jupiter — at 7:54 PM ET.
