Monday 11/28/2022: Sneak Peak at the Week; Neptune Turns Direct; Jupiter Direct in the News

It’s Monday night. Do you know where your planets are? Spoilin’ for a fight, possibly — especially if these particular planets are making contact with your unique horoscope. By Friday, we are likely to be feeling the dreamy and/or bewildering spin, as Neptune turns direct on Saturday.

  • Mars trines Saturn on Monday
  • Mercury opposes Mars and sextiles Saturn on Tuesday
  • Venus opposes Mars and sextiles Saturn on Thursday
  • Mercury squares Neptune on Thursday
  • Neptune turns direct on Saturday
  • Venus squares Neptune on Sunday

It goes like this:

  • MONDAY: Moon in Aquarius drives the day with a need for unique social significance among a group of like-minded souls. Get in touch with your besties and tell them they are great! Moon sextile Venus at 7:39 PM ET facilitates good times, with possible surprise soon thereafter, as Moon squares Uranus. Meanwhile, that second trine between Mars and Saturn is exact at 12:55 PM ET. Mars and Saturn are considered to be bad hombres in traditional astrology, and both are functioning with an easy flow in the element of Air. Mars refers to action; Saturn refers to structure and authority; together they make a militant combination. Is that why there’s a tornado watch happening in the South today and tomorrow? Tuesday’s engagement with Mercury (travel; transportation; commerce) increases the odds of turbulence in all airwaves, not just with respect to the weather.
  • TUESDAY: Moon in Aquarius offers a repeat of yesterday’s Mars-Saturn trine as it trines Mars at 1:30 AM ET and then meets up with Saturn at 1:53 AM ET. The latter pattern may put the brakes on whatever disruption occurred several hours earlier. After the heavy Moon-Saturn meet-up, Moon goes void for the next 17 hours. You know the Moon void drill: roll with the twists and flakes, and don’t make a mountain out of a molehill. CHILL — and be thankful that the combative opposition between Mercury (in righteously opinion Sagittarius) and Mars (in “the pen is mightier than the sword” Gemini) happens during a Moon void. That can mute the actual consequences of whatever verbal sparks and transportation challenges do occur. Moon enters Pisces at 7:15 PM ET, facilitating a need for empathy, impressions and identification with ideas. Mercury (how we need to think and communicate) offers a pragmatic or authoritarian spin as it sextiles Saturn at 11:17 PM ET.
  • WEDNESDAY: Empathy challenges fiery righteousness, as the Pisces Moon squares the Sagittarius Sun at 9:36 AM ET. Reaching across the aisle may be an effective strategy in the evening, as Moon sextiles Uranus…but…but…there’s tension in the air as…
  • THURSDAY: Venus and Mars will oppose each other at 12:27 AM ET. Who will win? Hard to say. Venus in Sag refers to boundary-pushing women, money, art and social expression; Mars retrograde in Gemini is armed with a keyboard, trying to prove it’s the cleverest kid in the room.  I anticipate plenty of obnoxious news involving social media, with bruised feelings aired overnight, as the Pisces Moon literally gets caught in the middle. More righteous sparks in the morning, as Moon squares Mercury at 9:23 AM ET. Some it may be sublime; much of it may be surreal, as Moon meets up with Neptune at 10:35 AM ET. And speaking of surreal, Mercury squares Neptune at 8:08 PM ET, which is wonderful for creative types, but for those seeking a reality check, look to the sextile between Venus and Saturn, exact at 10:09 PM ET. That may offer the practical communication skills to structure whatever big dream you’ve got going, as the Pisces Moon meets up with Jupiter at 9:44 PM ET. Moon zooms into me-me-me first Aries, picking up the pace at 11:40 PM ET.
  • FRIDAY: Arise and charge about the day; that’s what the Moon in Aries need to get things started might inspire you to do. That drive is supported by a trine (harmony — to the Sun in Sagittarius. Anything is possible — especially when it come to make-believe, and I say this because on…
  • SATURDAY: at 7:15 PM ET, Neptune turns direct, ending a five-month period of subtle focus on using your own dreams and intuition for guidance. When a planet is retrograde, the suggestion is to turn inward on issues involving that planet, as opposed to looking outside the self.  You’ll feel the effects of Neptune’s change of station more personally if you were born 22-25  days into Pisces, Virgo, Gemini, and Sagittarius…or if you have a planet or angle at 21-25 degrees of those signs.  What kind of effects? Oh…perhaps you are feeling somewhat bewildered…or less inclined to be in Type A personality mode (if you are normally a Type A personality). You may find yourself needing to express your creativity — even if you have never thought of yourself as a “creative” person. You may also find being of service richly rewarding. Note that whenever a planet changes direction, it pulls focus in the headlines several days before and after. See an uptick in stories of music, drugs, oil, deception, oceans and spirits of all kinds, etc? I sure do. Here’s what was happening in the news the last time Neptune turned direct, including accurate predictions about what former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was likely to experience in 2022. Interesting that his old joint is still making news.
  • SATURDAY: the Aries Moon happily charges through the cosmic sandbox, enjoying easy connections to Mars, Saturn, Venus and Mercury throughout the day.
  • SUNDAY: Moon goes void on its weekly clash with Pluto at 12:46 AM ET. If a power play or catharsis cropped up, CHILL during the ensuing void. Could be a deep and dreamy evening, as Venus squares Neptune at 2:12 AM ET. Plan your romantic/creative escape. At 6:34 AM ET, Moon enters Taurus, intent on building something stable and comfortable out of all of Aries great ideas. Good tidings of comfort and joy!

It is fascinating that in this week with its rare opposition between Venus and Mars (love and desire), with rose-colored Neptune humming in the background, Beth Owl’s Daughter’s Tarot Card of the Week is…the Two of Cups.

And now, the news.

A week of no exact aspects among the planets — except to the Moon — suggested a tipping point. Color it red with the easy flow of militant action suggested by today’s Mars-Saturn trine. Color it blue with the focused energy of Jupiter (big!) turning direct at the verrrrrrry end of Pisces, with its themes of empathy, oceans, spirits and the end of the world.

We had two tipping points Heather Cox Richardson needed to tell us over the holiday weekend:

Another tipping point:

With Mars in Gemini square Neptune at a virtual standstill, 2022’s Word of the Year, according to Merriam-Webster, is…gaslighting.

Actual NYT headline:

  • Vanished in the Pacific — “Driven by Covid chaos, online disinformation and a YouTube guru, two Americans went looking for solace on a sailboat in the middle of the ocean. They found a different fate.” Can’t make this stuff up.

UPDATE: As predicted, the threat of a railway strike looms again. Thanks, Mars retrograde in Gemini!

In other news…

Jupiter in Pisces suggests big news about floods…and the end of the world:

Random article — just because it’s fascinating: “How keeping warm wards off loneliness.”

Jupiter is close enough to 0 degrees Aries to be at the Aries Point. Avid Readers will recall that the Aries Point suggests prominence, as in FAME. I’m sad to report that Irene Cara, famous for singing “Fame,” died last week at 63.  Here’s the song.

But getting back to the end of the world…with Jupiter near the end of Pisces…and Neptune in Pisces blaring like a car horn on themes of empathy, healing and divine intervention. In Greg Olear’s Sunday post, he writes about a song of transcendence: Calling All Angels, performed by Jane Siberry (and kd lang). Perhaps you are wondering if Neptune is strong in Siberry’s horoscope? Of course it is. She has Venus conjunct Neptune in Libra — a sublime artist.

I hope you all had a peaceful Thanksgiving holiday — if you happened to spend last Thursday in America.

Here is the 411 on personal consultations. Yes, I have gift certificates available — handcrafted snail mail ones or I can send them via email. ‘Tis the season!!

Here is the CORRECT LINK to my guest appearance on Christi Clemons Hoffman’s Radiate Wellness podcast. We had such fun! UPDATE: howling with laughter over the realization that the link that was sent out to email subscribers wasn’t actually correct. But really, it IS the correct link now. Thanks for supporting Small Business Saturday (it’s a one-woman show here at Grace Astrology — d’oh!).

Meanwhile…

Whitney and I aren’t recording a new episode of Off the Charts: A Stellar Newscast this week. However, we are offering a fun video for our patron subscribers. Avid Listeners are aware that Whitney and I have different approaches to our horoscope interpretation, and they have peppered us with questions about how exactly how we differ. So we chose one of our patron subscribers at random and offered her a complimentary Zoom session. Whitney offers her take on the horoscope, and then I offer mine. Then Whitney offers her take on near-term opportunities and challenges, and I present mine. Our appreciative winning patron subscriber was kind enough to give us feedback on our different approaches, and we hope you will find it fascinating. You can sign up here to receive an email notification when this premium video is published — ideally on Friday. We wanted to give a little extra to Avid Listeners who give a little extra to us.

Finally…

Thanks to Avid Reader Jennifer who wanted to make sure I didn’t miss this perfect reflection of the Sabian Symbol for last week’s New Moon in Sagittarius. It was “an ocean covered in white caps.” And here it is. Astrology. Is. Amazing.

Thank you for reading this forecast — and sharing it with your friends.
