Monday is driven by the Moon in Gemini, which can be quite the pixie chatterbox in its quest to keep you informed and entertained. Today the pixie-ness may be subdued by a challenge to mental Mercury from Saturn at 3:26PM ET. This suggests a need for gravitas in thought and communication, as well as a potential need to push through blocks and limitations if need be.
How receptive the other party is to your persuasion may be tempered by a charged aspect at 4:48PM ET between Venus (feeling quite sensitive in Pisces) and Mars (needing to push boundaries in Sagittarius). If you’ve noticed any tension between the sexes in your own personal world, you may have a planet or point in the very early part of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini and Sagittarius. Or you just might happen to be a divorce lawyer.
As the evening approaches, the Gemini Moon bounces off three planets in two hours: first by a potential chill or push forward by taskmaster Saturn at 8:54PM ET; second, by a challenge to Mercury in Pisces (striving to make verbal sense of how it feels about it) and third, by a challenge to Jupiter in Virgo (needing to expand on every little detail) at 10:51PM ET. Are things up or down, that is the question.
By the time you wake up on Tuesday, your mind may have a deeper understanding of whatever heavy matter landed on Monday’s plate. Gravitas may be replaced with an exuberant or excessive release as Mercury challenges Jupiter at 5:42AM ET. It then hits 19 degrees of Pisces — triggering the degree of last week’s New Moon/Solar Eclipse. Who’s most likely to be affected by a potential release or realization? People with planets halfway through Virgo, Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces.
For added clarity, consider the challenge you may receive to your New Moon agenda around 1:03PM ET on Tuesday, as the First Quarter Moon energizes the day and then goes void until 8:57PM ET. Roll with whatever twists may crop up in your efforts to move forward in a straight line; focus on routine concerns. Chill out over crises that may arise; a Moon void usually suggests it’s much ado about nothing. Use that note to put First Quarter Moon challenges in perspective.
There will be no other Moon voids during business hours for the rest of the work week. On Wednesday we’ll have the second of three easy alignments between Jupiter (expansion) and Pluto (power & resources), exact at 4:26PM ET. The first in this series happened on October 11th; the third will be on June 26th. We may see a re-think of issues that were up in October, along with more stories about power and resources, especially energy resources such as oil, gas and nuclear. Early last week, when the Sun made contact with Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter withing a two-day span, I noted a strong uptick in stories in that vein, especially the last one.
This is the last week of the Sun in Pisces, the end of the astrological year. On Sunday at 12:31AM ET, Sun enters Aries and it all begins anew. Pisces can wallow in endings, sometimes…forgetting that a new spark is just around the corner.
And now, the news.
Today’s Mercury-Saturn and Venus-Mars squares can be grumpy. I wouldn’t pick this day for a wedding, even with Venus shining so brightly in compassionate Pisces. Over at Facebook, there’s a whole Department of Compassion striving to make relationship break-ups and other endings less painful, reports the NYT. And look what I found when trying to retrieve that Facebook story. This headline: “Martin Sabo, Minnesota Congressman Known for Compassion During Era of Partisanship, Dies at 78” That story just hit the wires. Congressman Sabo was a Pisces — born February 28, 1936:
He was thought of as “understated,” which we could expect with his Pisces Sun conjunct sobering Saturn, both blurred somewhat by contact with Neptune.
As for stories of power and resources, some are more hopeful than others. Hopeful: a father-daughter team proposes an innovative way to re-charge electric cars by having them drive on electric roads. Not hopeful: North Korea saying it has the capacity to hit New York with a hydrogen bomb. North Korea has been making quite a bit of news in recent weeks. It declared its independence on September 9, 1948 — Sun at 16 Virgo square to Jupiter at 19 Sagittarius, suggesting a potentially bombastic, excessive need for ego aggrandizement. Transiting Jupiter is making contact with this square now for the second time, and both planets were affected by last week’s eclipse. Interesting to see that North Korea has a provocative square between Mars in potentially brutal Scorpio and Venus in drama king Leo, echoing the Mars-Venus square that is exact today. Not only that, but North Korea’s Mercury is conjunct visionary/delusional Neptune, another patterns we’ve experienced in recent days.
Astrologer Jamie Partridge has proposed a birth time for North Korea of 12:39PM in Pyongyang, which would give a Midheaven of 17 Virgo — conjunct the Sun and square Jupiter — thus exacerbating the need for aggrandizement. This would also give North Korea a Sagittarius Moon, just like Donald Trump. This suggests a need to push boundaries and — more important — have its opinion respected. Ya think?
Yesterday the NY Times ran a lengthy piece striving to analyze why Mr. Trump is the way he is and why he does what he does. It concluded with this obvious-to-any-skilled-
I wonder if there’s any connection between that check and Governor Christie recent endorsement of Mr. Trump. I wonder if the media could forget about the zillions of dollars of revenue Trump has generated, and decide it has a moral obligation to give him as much attention as it gave…oh…Jim Webb, George Pataki, Lincoln Chafee or Jim Gilmore. What would happen then?
Meanwhile, reflecting the information junkie buzz of today’s Gemini Moon, along with other aforementioned provocative patterns, a reporter at Breitbart and her editor resigned from the conservative news outlet. Why? Because the reporter alleges she was assaulted by Mr. Trump’s campaign manager (witnessed by a reporter at the Washington Post). The reporter — Michelle Fields — felt her employer did not stand by her.
On a lighter note, today — 3/14/16 — is Pi Day. Here is a puzzle for you to solve, courtesy of The Guardian.

Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday-Sunday 3/10-13/2016

But first — Thursday — which I was not able to post in time, in part due to technical difficulties.
The Moon in me-me-me Aries continues its charge through the day — seeking to get things started — not now, but RIGHT NOW. It cruises without interference, bolstered by helpful structured input from ambitious Saturn, exact at 4:36PM ET. Late afternoon and evening hours may be marked by a power play, catharsis or upset, as the Moon makes its weekly clash with Pluto (at 6:01PM ET) and Uranus (at 8:43PM ET). And let’s not forget about the visionary/delusional potential of mental Mercury meeting up with dreamy Neptune at 1:01AM ET on Friday. How will that rose-color your next few days? You may need to take some of what you hear with a grain of salt.
On Friday, the Moon continues in Aries with less of an edge. It connects easily with Venus at the very end of Aquarius at 1:24PM ET, suggesting an awareness of unconventional social expression and values — more on that in a minute. Moon goes void until 2:44PM ET, at which point it enters Taurus, shifting the energy of the day to one that seeks material comfort and security, good food, sweet music and a snuggle with the nearest sweetie. Oh joy oh joy.
There’s no Moon void to derail your shopping adventures on Saturday. Creative connections to Mercury and Neptune may infuse your morning with senseless beauty, especially since Venus will have moved into Pisces at 5:24AM ET. This facilitates compassion and empathy in social expression. Meanwhile, your efforts to build and maintain comfort and security may benefit from a surprisingly easy resource, as the Moon makes a smooth connection to Jupiter (expansion) and Pluto (power and resources) at 6:41PM ET and 7:36PM ET).
On Sunday, the Taurus Moon will be void between 5:46AM ET and 5:03PM ET. Not a day for impulsive purchases. Chill and focus on routine concerns; avoid the temptation to make a mountain over a molehill of “much ado about nothing” crisis. This too, shall pass. Once the Moon enters Gemini at 5:03PM ET, the mood may become quite chatty and buzzed. Be advised that the Moon will challenge Venus at 8:21PM ET and Mars at 9:42PM ET. Find a productive outlet for any charged/irritable/confrontational energy you may be feeling in relationship. The operative word is “productive”.
There’s no Moon void on Monday, so no sleeping in. The need for a buzz continues through Tuesday, along with other high-energy patterns to be discussed in the next forecast.
And now, the news.
Over the years I have noticed that when the Moon is void for over a few hours, a story will often run wild in social media that is of little consequence, but feels really big at the time. Remember that big debate over whether a certain dress was blue and black or gold and white? Moon was void. On February 24th, during a mostly all-day void, news outlets were all over the possibility that Governor Brian Sandoval of Nevada would be nominated for the Supreme Court. I was skeptical. The next day, the story evaporated.
Yesterday, during a long Moon in Pisces void, the “big story” was outrage over President Obama “snubbing” Nancy Reagan by not attending her upcoming funeral. This was followed by outrage over the outrage — all over Facebook. There’s no story here. President Obama has another commitment — booked months in advance at SXSW. First Lady Michelle Obama will attend Mrs. Reagan’s funeral. Let’s move on — and the take away here is “measure twice; cut once” when you see a story spinning out of control. Check to see if the Moon is void.
Moon voids also suggest a higher potential of upsets which favor the underdog. During Monday evening’s long Moon void, the jaws of pollsters and pundits on a number of payrolls hit the floor when Bernie Sanders defied their odds and won the Michigan primary 50%-48%. Are you surprised? Not if you’ve been reading this forecast. Am I suggesting that Bernie Sanders will win the nomination? Not yet. I am suggesting that his horoscope is strong and should not be discounted, particularly against a backdrop of planetary patterns — Uranus (rebel) in Aries (individual) challenging Pluto (power) in Capricorn (Establishment).
And now, a long pause while I process the fact that on a potentially nihilistic Moon-Pluto square, 500 words of carefully crafted analysis about Marco Rubio’s recent bout with the flu, Donald Trump’s prospects for much love –– this just in –– in tonight’s debate, Bobby Jindal’s wipeout, Neptune transits in general, etc. — have all been obliterated. Thank you, tech snafu. Also obliterated: the part about how Mercury in touch with all of the outer planets over the next several days bodes well for SXSW and other forums for empowering ideas and communication (including those happening in your own personal world).

Huh. What a concept. Declare one’s value. Ask — and ye shall receive. Don’t ask — don’t receive. Something to think about.

Here’s an abbreviated bit about Bobby Jindal’s magical thinking – –posted here two years ago. Here’s his horoscope. Here’s the article that prompted me to dig it up. Apparently Louisiana is facing its worst budget crisis in the history of forever, and all of that magical thinking is getting a reality check. What’s going on in Mr. Jindal’s horoscope? An aforementioned wipeout from all angles, suggested by transiting Neptune dissolving his Ascendant (personal projection) and Midheaven (career status, reputation). Guess who’s being blamed for Louisiana’s dire straits?
Here’s a story reflecting Venus (women, social expression, aesthetics) at the very end of unconventional, gender-bending Aquarius, as promised. Writer/director Lilly Wachowski announced today that she, like her sister Lana, is transgender. The Wachowskis are the creative force behind The Matrix, among other mind-blowing films.
You’d expect that such a dramatic life-changing event would be clearly reflected in the horoscope, so naturally I went and looked it up. Lilly Wachowski is an enterprising Capricorn, capable of stern discipline and responsibility, driven by a Sagittarius Moon that needs to push boundaries to infinity and beyond, as Buzz Lightyear might say. A need to be seen as someone of depth and substance is suggested by a Scorpio Ascendant — a.k.a., a mask of mastery and self-control. It is softened by a rose-colored meet-up between Venus and Neptune in Scorpio — and in the First House. Something about her personal projection could be alluring – and not as it seemed. “Lilly” seems like an apt name for a beautiful feminine ideal. A need to be herself without compromise –prominently so — is suggested by rebel, unconventional Uranus at the Aries Point.
Looking at developments in the horoscope, we see the suggestion of a need for a fresh start in 2010, impacting core family and foundation concerns. In the two years that follow, we see transiting Pluto and Uranus challenging her with an opportunity for a transformed and liberated ego identity and mindset, but not without hard, hard work. In 2012, we’d expect her to find her place in the sun (this is the year her sister Lana made her first public appearance as a transgendered person, earned a humanitarian award and made a deeply moving acceptance speech). Now that Lilly’s transformation is also public, it’s fascinating to see how a measurement from Pluto to her Ascendant later this year suggests the potential for another empowered shift in identity perspective. More power to her for living the potential of her horoscope as only she can do.
Potential. This is what we see in the horoscope. How that potential is brought to life is up to the individual. Millions of people have experienced challenging Uranus-Pluto transits which did not result in a gender transition. But I’d argue they became emancipated and/or empowered in other ways.

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday & Wednesday 3/8-9/2016: New Moon & Solar Eclipse in Pisces

The Moon met up with visionary Neptune at 6:12AM ET, the first of a flurry of contacts the Moon will make to other planets as it travels through soulful Pisces. If you have a planet or point halfway to two-thirds of the way through Pisces, Virgo, Gemini and Sagittarius, you may be feeling especially buoyed (upside) or overextended (downside) by a face-off between the Pisces Sun and Jupiter at 5:57AM ET. Actress Camryn Manheim has a birthday today. So does Lester Holt, Mickey Dolenz and Aidan Quinn. I wonder how they are feeling.
A block or an opportunity to push through a block arrives around 4:29PM ET, courtesy of a challenge to the Moon by Saturn. Depth of perspective and emotion may color it, as the Moon connects with Pluto at 5:55PM ET. Next up is a face-off between the Moon and Jupiter, suggesting an echo of whatever expansive/over-extended rush you may have received this morning. Finally, at 8:54PM ET, we’ll have the Sun and the Moon meet up at 19 degrees of Pisces — a.k.a. the New Moon in Pisces — which will then go void until 2:40PM ET on WEDNESDAY.
This New Moon is a Super Moon. It is also, as you must have heard by now, a total solar eclipse. “Super Moon” is a term coined by astrologer Richard Nolle back in 1979. Here is a helpful article he wrote, which should clear up any misunderstandings you may have about Super Moons. FYI, Nolle argues that Super Moons seem to coincide with weird, wild weather in the days before and after a Super Moon. Here’s an example of weird, wild weather on its way to Texas right now. In New York tomorrow, forecasters predict it will be 73 degrees. That’s insane. This Super Moon/Eclipse is so weird and wild that it will start on Wednesday and end on Tuesday — and here’s why.
OK, so New Moon, Super Moon and a total Solar Eclipse. What about the “eclipse” part?
A Solar Eclipse can act like a bottleneck of energy. Light flowing from the Sun is temporarily interrupted by the Moon, focusing attention on that interrupted point. Wherever that point falls in your horoscope, something new — and possibly fragile — may enter the picture and grow over the next several months. And here I would be thinking of Michael, the kindhearted policeman in the storybook Make Way for Ducklings, who stopped the flow of traffic on Beacon Street so Mr. and Mrs. Mallard and their brood of eight could safely make their way to the Boston Public Garden. Here is Officer Michael, playing the role of the Moon in a total solar eclipse. Got that?
So when does the bottleneck of energy release, you may be wondering. Good question. We can expect a release of energy (reflected by an event) when another planet makes contact with the degree of the eclipse. Conjunctions are the most potent, but I’d argue that squares and oppositions also make an impact. Here’s an example: in September there was an eclipse that made contact with my Mercury (communication, mindset) and my Ascendant (personal projection, health). My Mercury happens to be in my Third House (communication) and it rules my Sixth House (health, among other things). A couple of months later, when transiting Mars hit the degree of that eclipse (4 Libra), I lost my voice for four days (until my brilliant acupuncturist restored it in less than an hour). See how an issue symbolized by Mercury in the horoscope became a focal point after it was eclipsed? Clear?
This eclipse falls almost exactly opposite the eclipse we experienced on September 13th, at 20 degrees of Virgo. If your horoscope was affected by that event, you are likely to be affected by the one happening today. Now let’s talk about what patterns we see in the horoscope for this New Moon. First, we see a lot of Water — Sun, Moon, Mercury, Neptune, South Node and Chiron — all in Pisces. Pisces keywords include empathy, ideals, endings, spirits of all kinds, suffering, at-one-ment, victimization, refugees and other displaced persons our society tends to hide under the nearest rug (or hospital or prison or religious institution or subconscious). The emphasis on Water suggests a flood — literally and figuratively, e.g., a flood of emotion. Today it was reported that scientists expect heavier and harder rainfall in the near-term future.
Mercury and Neptune are together in Pisces, suggesting a need for a visionary mindset, for better or for worse. A faith in something ideal — but is it sublime or delusional? You choose — and others will, too. Action on that rose-colored vision is suggested by Mars in fiery Sagittarius adding its own blend of high-flying zeal and pixie-dust, as it makes contact with Mercury and Neptune. With the South Node and Chiron so close to the Sun and Moon, see the potential for issues involving healing a wound, unrequited love, the lowest common denominator and destruction. Certainly we see the potential for a sense of anguish or extraordinary effort in the face of a threat or loss to be prominent, suggested by a measurement between Saturn and Pluto with the Aries Point.
We also see Jupiter retrograde in earthy Virgo, opposing the Sun-Moon-Chiron and South Node. Jupiter in Virgo needs to expand on the slightest detail, perhaps missing the Bigger Picture. It might not be able to see the forest for the trees. Jupiter being retrograde suggests that whatever it seeks to expand now, it may change its mind about by the time it turns direct on May 3rd. Jupiter is also about to square Saturn in righteously opinionated Sagittarius, amplifying the usual “righteous” quality of any challenge between Jupiter and Saturn. When these two make contact, we expect a need for a sense of purpose in ambition and reward. Jupiter is also about to trine Pluto in Capricorn, suggesting an easy access to power and resources. Hmm. I can’t remember where I read this, but another astrologer noted the potential for “throwing the baby out with the bath water” in reference to Jupiter in Virgo so strongly engaged in this eclipse. That’s excellent advice. If anyone knows who wrote that, please let me know so I can give them credit.
The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon at 19 Pisces is “a master instructing his pupil”. Let’s see what Sabian Symbol guru Blain Bovee has to say about that:
I added those italics — musing that perhaps those words might suggest the bottom-line challenge for this potent New Moon/Eclipse. Are you strong enough to “stand in your truth” without compromise, no matter which way the madding crowd is going? Suze Orman loves to tell her audience to stand in their truth. Here’s a fascinating interview in which she talks about how she applied that mantra in her own life.
So go ahead, light a candle, make a list and set your intentions for the next 30 days. In crafting your vision, be willing to release what no longer serves. Around March 15th, on the First Quarter Moon, we can expect a challenge to those goals, with appropriate adjustments made. At the time of the Full Moon on the 23rd, we can expect illumination on the success or failure of our goals for the cycle. If we succeeded, we can consciously release our success into our reality; if we failed, we let go of whatever did not work. After the Third Quarter Moon on March 31st, we can review our achievements, tie up loose ends and get ready to begin another New Moon on April 7th.
And now, the news.
It is interesting to note that this eclipse falls exactly opposite Joe Biden’s Midheaven, focusing energy on his home/family/foundation and his public status/career. Transiting Jupiter will trigger this eclipse in the Vice President’s horoscope around July 10th. In Rupert Murdoch’s horoscope, the eclipse falls almost exactly on his 21 Pisces Sun. Transits in his horoscope suggest a recent daring action and upheaval in his life, to be followed by a rose-colored or bewildering experience in his home/family/core foundation concerns. Mr. Murdoch married Jerry Hall on Friday. Alas, no time for the ceremony was reported.
Elsewhere, I am fascinated to see that Kato Kaelin was born on March 9th, 1959 — on a New Moon! Sun at 19 degrees Pisces; Moon at 20 degrees Pisces — so his horoscope is hit strongly by today’s eclipse. Not only that, but his Midheaven is at 17 degrees Capricorn, which is where transiting Pluto is right now. Transiting Pluto is also supercharging his Venus, which rules Kaelin’s Taurus Ascendant. We’d expect this to be reflected with increased prominence in his life, which would include the TV series about the O.J. Simpson murder trial that is currently airing on FX. It will be interesting to see what else develops in the aftermath of this eclipse.
Pluto (and Uranus) are also active in O.J. Simpson’s horoscope, supercharging his 16 degree Cancer Sun for the past couple of years. We also see a truckload of other measurements suggesting intensity of mindset and a raised public profile. No surprise there, right? He may be in prison, but millions are glued to a TV series about him. It’s interesting that last week — a few days after transiting Mars squared his Leo Ascendant — a knife allegedly found buried on the grounds of his former home was turned over to the police. It’s being tested for DNA evidence, though some sources say it is doubtful the knife is related to the case. Time will tell, along with a few more upcoming provocative hits from Mars in Simpson’s horoscope. Meanwhile, the NY Daily News published Kato Kaelin’s thoughts on this twist.
In other news, we wouldn’t be in the dark of the lunar cycle if we didn’t see at least one headline reporting an “under-the-radar” event, e.g., “FBI Quietly Changes Its Privacy Rules for Accessing NSA Data on Americans”. Finally, reflecting the pixie-dust potential of Mercury and Mars with Neptune this week, you can indulge in J.K. Rowling’s new essay series on “The History of Magic in North America”. She’s going to publish a new installment every day for the next five days.

So happy to finally have time to catch up on the news in synch with planetary patterns. What a dynamic week we had, especially those of us with planets at 29 degrees of Scorpio, Aquarius, Leo and Taurus — and that would include me. On the upside, ’twas excellent for pushing through blocks and taking action on behalf of Worthy Causes.
We are in the dark side of the Moon — the balsamic phase of the lunar cycle — sensing that something new is just around the corner, but we don’t know what. That new something arrives in the aftermath of Tuesday’s New Moon in Pisces, which is also a total solar eclipse. It happens at 8:54PM ET. Until then, use this “dead” Moon to fly under the radar and advance your plan for world domination. If you are not a dastardly type, you can also wrap up loose ends and start working on your expansive vision for the next 30 days…and maybe for even longer. This is a pretty big visionary configuration we have brewing…
Since 11:02AM ET on Saturday, the Moon has been in Aquarius, sign of the wonky/wacky humanitarian. It’s excellent for pondering innovative ideas that benefit the greater good and/or actually being helpful. Aquarius is a networking sign, so hanging with your favorite friends and/or support group is also favored.
On Sunday, the aftermath of a heavy Sun-Saturn square at 1:04AM ET colored the day. A loss, perhaps — or an ambitious advance — felt more personally if you have a planet or angle around 16-19 degrees of Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini or Virgo. Depth, perspective, power, transformation and regeneration are emphasized by a cooperative connection between the intuitive Pisces Sun and Pluto, exact at 7:18PM ET. Countering the potential cuts and focus is an expansive face-off between the idealistic Pisces Sun and Jupiter, exact on Monday at 5:57AM ET – again felt more personally by people with planets or points at 16-19 degrees of Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini and Virgo.
Certainly I’ve seen some heavy headlines today. Nancy Reagan passed away at 94. Her horoscope has been under considerable pressure from transiting Uranus and Pluto over the years. She has Jupiter and Saturn at 14 and 19 Virgo, respectively. Transiting Mars just opposed her Venus, ruler of her (unconfirmed) Libra Ascendant. Did you know that Nancy Reagan had a consulting astrologer for seven of the eight years that she lived in the White House. Mrs. Reagan was no slouch; Smith College was her alma mater. Joan Quigley was Mrs. Reagan’s astrologer. Here is her book.
Meanwhile, Broncos QB Peyton Manning is calling it quits. Elsewhere, an oil tycoon was sentenced to death in Iraq after being convicted of corruption (he can appeal). Wow. Another oil & gas executive was dealt a heavy blow last week, as you’ll read in a minute. In other news, China issued a ginormous list of subjects that can no longer be depicted on TV, including gays, witches, reincarnation and “luxurious lifestyles”. Double wow.
On Monday the Aquarius Moon goes void at 3:46AM ET, not to enter Pisces until 2:08PM ET. There’s your excuse for sleeping through the alarm or pouring hot water over coffee beans you neglected to grind (because the Moon void facilitated your wandering mindset, reflected by a twist in your usual routine). At 3:11PM ET be advised that the sensitive Pisces Moon will be challenged by a boundary-pushing, opinionated Mars in Sagittarius. A urge to talk or confess all is suggested by a meet-up between the Moon and Mercury at 9:29PM ET, though it can be argued that Mercury in Pisces communicates more effectively through intuition and empathy, as opposed to words.
Other than contacts from the Moon, the only exact planetary pattern happening after Tuesday this week is a rose-colored meet-up between Mercury and Neptune on Friday at 1:01AM ET. Let the stories of dreams, music, healing, drugs, spirits of all kind and every other Pisces/Neptune keyword begin. Moon voids — a time to focus on routine concerns and roll with twists that derail your efforts to move forward in a straight line — are as follows: Tuesday 8:54PM ET until 2:40PM ET on WEDNESDAY; Friday 1:24PM – 2:44PM ET.

Most of it reflects the energy reflected by Mars, ruthlessly asserting macho/warrior energy at the verrrrry end of Scorpio. A planet at the end of a sign — 29 degrees — carries extra special potency. If you have a planet at 29 degrees in your horoscope, you can be sure that you have much to learn about whatever that planet represents. Mars at 29 Scorpio was challenged by Mercury (mindset/communication/transportation) at 29 Aquarius on Friday, suggesting strong potential for a war of words. Well?
On February 19th, I tossed out several horoscopes that would be affected by transiting Mars (and Mercury) over the next couple of weeks. I’ve reprinted what I said back then; the italics are what happened since:
You know who else was motivated by Mars last week? MITT ROMNEY. Isn’t that wonderful? Mr. Romney was the talk of the town last week when he denounced Donald Trump as a “fraud” and other unflattering things. Mars made contact with Mitt’s 27 Scorpio Moon-Jupiter conjunction AND squared his opinionated Sagittarius Ascendant in the last few days!! Mr. Romney’s horoscope has responded to transiting Mars before. Back in 2012, he was “memorizing zingers” in preparation for a debate with Barack Obama. With Neptune hitting Mr. Romney’s horoscope at that time (and diffusing that Martian impulse), things didn’t quite go as planned.
Here’s another one: Aubrey McClendon. A pioneering force of nature. When I worked at CNBC, the former CEO of Chesapeake Energy appeared on the network numerous times. Mr. McClendon was indicted on “federal bid-rigging charges” on Tuesday. Hours later, around 9AM on Wednesday in Oklahoma City, Mr. McClendon crashed his car into a bridge. He wasn’t wearing a seat belt — and was known for his reckless, “wildcat” behavior. Birth data: July 14, 1959 — no birth time known — in OK City, OK. Mercury conjunct Uranus in Leo — there’s a marker for a reckless mindset. Likely square to his Scorpio Moon (restless; wildcat), too. Mars action and other current stress in the horoscope includes a heavy hit to Mars from (solar arc) Saturn; another from (solar arc) Mars to his Cancer Sun. Transiting Mars at 26 Scorpio would have exactly squared his natal Mars at 26 Leo at the end of February. If he had an astrologer, he or she would have warned him to slow down.

Many may find the Moon’s ingress into Sagittarius as of 6:56PM ET on Monday a blessed relief. A Scorpio Moon can be so moody and intense, and yesterday’s meet-up with pistol-packin’ Mars at 2:55PM ET did not soften edges, so my spies tell me. A Sagittarius Moon needs to push boundaries and tell the world what it thinks, ever so righteously. Bully for the registered voters in a dozen states who will voice their opinion in a caucus or a primary on this so-called Super Tuesday. Will they be thinking rationally as well as righteously? The Moon will be challenged by visionary/rose-colored Neptune at 1:49PM ET, so what do you think? At 6:11PM ET we’ll have the 3rd Quarter Moon, suggesting a need for an adjustment or a challenge to whatever illumination was received at the Full Moon last week.

There will be no Moon voids during business hours to derail your efforts to move purposefully forward in a straight line. Moon will be void at 9:55PM ET on Wednesday until 5:01AM ET on Thursday and that’s pretty much it until Monday. Onward! Over the next few days, social expression, women, money and aesthetics get an innovative boost from an easy connection to rebel Uranus — exact on Wednesday at 8:13PM ET.
As we get closer to the weekend, be advised that Mercury (mindset, communication) will challenge Mars at the verrrrry end of Scorpio. This will happen at 12:43AM ET on Saturday. So in the days leading up to that, we may see clashes of ruthless will and stubborn wonky ideas, for better for worse. Sometimes you need to clear the air. You’ll feel this tension more personally if you have a planet or angle at 29 degrees — the very end — of Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus and Leo. And guess what happens next? Mercury and Mars both change signs. Mercury enters Pisces at 5:24AM ET Saturday; Mars enters Sagittarius at 9:30PM ET.
In Pisces, Mercury suggests a mindset that needs to float and dream, based on intuition and faith. Sounds great for artists and healers. Could be reflected in some convoluted logic, though. In Sagittarius, Mars suggests a need for high-flying and righteously opinionated action, pushing boundaries as much as a Sagittarius Moon. We’ll have lots of time to experience this fiery drive: from Saturday until May 27th…and again from August 3rd until September 27th. In between those dates, Mars will be back in Scorpio, offering us a chance to revisit actions initiated in the past three weeks — since February 18th, to be exact.
Finally, on Sunday we’ll have an exact challenge — a square — between the Sun in Pisces and Saturn in Sagittarius. Here are some news items from a Sun-Saturn square in 2014. Such a challenge can be seriously sobering. For some it is an opportunity for advance. For others, it may be an encounter with a brick wall. You’ll feel the push or block either way more personally if you have a planet or angle at 15 degrees (halfway through) Pisces, Sagittarius, Virgo and Gemini.

So happy about Spotlight’s win on Sunday’s Oscars (TM). That pick enabled me to take home half of the Oscar (R) pool at wonderfully festive gathering of friends. Huzzah! Interesting that what really brought down the house was Lady Gaga’s powerful performance of ‘Til It Happens To You. This is a song written for the documentary The Hunting Ground, about sexual assault on colleges. You absolutely must watch the video in the preceding link.
So many of this year’s batch of nominees were developed when Saturn was in nitty-gritty Scorpio. See any similar themes?

In November of 2014 I wrote about Vice President Joe Biden, anticipating that
We would have thought he might be realizing the potential of his horoscope by running for president, but that didn’t happen. Still, there he was on Sunday night — exactly where he was supposed to be — addressing an audience of 80 million people. He had transiting Jupiter exactly on his Midheaven, boosting his public status. He had crusading Mars exactly on his nitty-gritty 27 degrees Scorpio Sun. His crusade: stopping sexual assault. Did you know that the Vice President co-authored the 1994 Violence Against Women Act?
Also benefitting from Jupiter’s transiting boost was Chris Rock, who likely has it near his Virgo Moon (we do not have a confirmed birth time), and definitely near his 17 degree Virgo Uranus and 18 degree Virgo Pluto, which are both opposed by authoritative Saturn at 16 Pisces. Mr. Rock has the Sun at 18 Aquarius — sign of the humanitarian — as well as Mercury at 19 Aquarius. “Oh wow!” you might think, if you’ve been paying attention. “The New Moon in February was at 20 Aquarius — close to Mr. Rock’s Sun and Mercury — and look how he brought his life purpose and mindset to light last month. Wow-oh-wow– astrology is so amazing! I wonder what’s going on in my horoscope?” Mr. Rock has earned his next Emmy, is what I’m thinking…
Lady Gaga was robbed of her golden statue, if you ask me. I blame transiting Neptune in her horoscope for the wipeout. Or perhaps a frustrating assault on Diane Warren’s Saturn from transiting Mars. Ms. Warren was the co-writer of the song. I expect intensive innovation from both women later this year, as transiting Uranus makes contact with the former’s Venus and the latter’s Moon.
