I am a reporter with a unique beat. I use my understanding of planetary cycles to provide advance notice and analysis on the Zeitgeist of the day. If you have ever wondered “why is this happening now,” my insights will transform your experience of the headlines, adding new meaning and understanding. Call it Astrology for News Junkies. If you’re curious to know why the Impossible Burger is trending…or why the outcome of the 2019 Israeli elections was likely to be a shocker …or why “Woodrow Wilson, Stud Muffin” was a New York Times headline in December 2013, you will find it here, in over a decade’s worth of historical research and reporting.
Note that I do use astrological jargon in The Forecast in my effort to show how the planetary patterns are reflected in mundane events. I explain what the jargon symbolizes, so that all who want to understand the connections between astrology and the news may do so. However, I do not use astrological jargon in personal consultations, just plain English.

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday & Thursday 6/29-30/2016: This Space Intentionally Left Blank
/in The ForecastThe dust of the start of a volatile week settles somewhat with the Moon’s ingress into Taurus at 6:03AM ET. A Taurus Moon seeks stability, comfort and security. It is often resistant to change, preferring to keep things “the way they ought to be,” whatever that means to a Moon in Taurus mind. A harmonious connection between the nurturing Cancer Sun and the sensual Taurus Moon at 8:29PM ET suggests a easy flow of matters “touchy-feely.” Taking pleasure in creature comforts — with gratitude — would be an apt part of this day. And now I’m laughing because a discussion has just popped up on my Facebook feed about the expression “you can’t have your cake and eat it, too.” Synchronicity!
Meanwhile, thoughts and communication related to emotional/family/homeland security are likely to be prominent, as Mercury enters Cancer. Regular readers of this forecast will recall that planets at very beginning of Aries, Cancer, Capricorn and Libra need prominence. Also prominent today — but for other reasons — is Mars, planet of men, action and aggression. Mars is pulling greater focus because it is at a dead stop (from our perspective on Earth), about to turn direct at 7:38PM ET. Planets pull focus when they change direction. If you were born around the 15th of November, August, May or February…or if you have a planet or angle around 22-24 Scorpio, Taurus, Aquarius or Leo, you’re feeling the heat more than most in June and July.
Humming in the background is an approaching face-off between Venus (women, money, arts, social expression) and Pluto (resources, power, perspective, the murky depths), exact at 11:29PM ET. This adds another dose of emotional intensity to the mix, potentially clearing the air and changing perspective, but not without a power struggle.
Keep ego and outbursts in check, and you can have a productive THURSDAY, using the Taurus Moon’s consolidating energy to advance your plans for world domination. Be aware that the Moon goes void at 8:19PM ET on a face-off with Mars. The Moon-Mars pattern suggests tenacity or a stubborn clash of will, for better or for worse. The void suggests you roll with any flakes or twists, and CHILL over “crises” that may crop up. Moon enters Gemini at 7:44AM ET on FRIDAY…and I can’t believe that half the year is over.
And now, the news.
Speaking of the above Venus-Pluto face-off, the Washington Post reports:
It could be great news. Although right now, these annual exams are covered in all insurance policies as being medically necessary. Will women get a big break on their insurance premiums if it is decided that they must now pay out-of-pocket going forward? Women, resources, perspective. Venus-Pluto. Is less really more?
Mars at a standstill in Scorpio, ruthless and effective — in an uncomfortable relationship with sudden, erratic Uranus. Moon in rambunctious Aries, meeting up with Uranus and discordant Eris on Tuesday. We could see the potential for destruction in the headlines, starting with the suicide bombing at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport. Then there’s the story of former Colts running back Zurlon Tipton accidentally shooting himself at a car dealership. Athletes, guns, accidents and cars — how much more Mars-Uranus can you get? Mr. Tipton did not survive.
Adding Venus-Pluto and a prominent Mercury (language, communication) to the mix we have “The Marines Just Took ‘Man’ Out of 19 Job Titles, and People are Losing Their Minds.” Add Saturn in Sagittarius’s need to control opinions, comedic and otherwise, and we have another ex-football player, Paul Gascoigne, standing trial in the UK for allegedly making a racist joke at a…comedy show.
Earlier this week we were talking about the astrological symbolism of Eris and its current tension between Mars and Uranus:
Today’s NYT has an op-ed by Bernie Sanders, whose Virgo Sun was graced by expansive Jupiter for the third and final time on June 18th. An op-ed published in the NYT is pretty expansive, don’t you think? When Senator Sanders announced his campaign last year, the strong potential for his social expression and action to heat up this summer (and into 2017) was noted. Last year, I was thinking of transiting Uranus supercharging his 22 degree Venus in Libra and 23 degree Mars Rx in Aries. With Eris involved, we can better understand why the Senator is so focused now on expressing outrage over income equality in the world. While he has vowed to vote for Hillary Clinton in November in order to defeat Whatshisname (thank you, peace-keeping Venus in Libra), he has not endorsed her yet. He is not going to shut up about the wealthiest 62 people in the world having more wealth than half of the world’s population, etc., etc.
Meanwhile, transiting Jupiter (enthusiasm, bloviation, publishing) conjunct Trey Gowdy’s Mercury retrograde at 17 Virgo (“what I think in exacting detail, except for my double agenda”) has coincided with the release of the Absolutely Final Benghazi Report, an 800 page document that cost $7 million to produce. The report has produced not much of interest, if you read the New York Times, or, if you read the Washington Times:
Mr. Gowdy then produced another 800 page report with recommendations to make sure that the daily toll of 27 Americans who are killed in gun homicides never happens again, either. All of the pages were blank.
OK, I made that up about Mr. Gowdy producing a second report. But the “daily toll” stat is true.
In Mrs. Clinton’s horoscope on June 27th, we see a fast-moving, yet significant planetary pattern between the Sun and Moon, suggesting the potential for “seeing the light.”
Thank you for reading this forecast. To schedule a consultation to find out what all of these planetary shifts means for you, here’s the 411.
Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 6/27/2016 & the Next Few Days: Sneak Peek at the Week; Mars Turns Direct; the Dance of Saturn and Neptune
/in The ForecastGood
Morning!Afternoon!
The start of the work week is driven by a pioneering Moon in me-me-me Aries, fearlessly leading whatever crusade for the underdog you’re espousing. The Third Quarter Moon — a challenging square between the Moon and the sensitive, homeland security-focused Cancer Sun happens at 2:19PM ET. This energy boost may test whatever illumination you received from last week’s prominently opinionated Full Moon in Sagittarius. A steady connection between the Moon and Saturn at 10:37PM ET suggests an afternoon of productivity.
Coloring the morning is a healing/compassionate/forgiving alignment between Venus (women, money, art, social expression) in Cancer and Neptune in Pisces, exact at 9:53AM ET. Moments ago, the Supreme Court just 1) declared restrictions imposed on abortion clinics to be unconstitutional; and 2) upheld a federal law that allegedly makes it more difficult for domestic violence offenders to own a a gun and 3) overturned the conviction of ex-Virginia governor Bob McDonnell, who was found guilty of corruption back in 2014. Elsewhere, Turkey apologized to Russia for shooting down a plane — and Edward Snowden’s lawyer is pushing for a pardon, while his exiled client tours the U.S. with the help of modern technology.
The Aries Moon continues through Tuesday, making its weekly clash with disruptive Pluto and Uranus at 7:14AM ET and 8:12PM ET, respectively. In the Americas, there are no Moon voids happening during business hours this week to thwart your efforts to move forward in a straight line. Moon will be void between 3:36AM and 6:03AM ET on WEDNESDAY. It will be void from 8:19PM ET on THURSDAY until 7:44AM ET on FRIDAY. Onward, then — with the following caveats:
Biggest planetary news this week happens at 7:38PM ET on WEDNESDAY, when Mars — planet of action, guns, yang energy and aggression — finally turns direct at 23 degrees of Scorpio. If you have a planet around or on that degree — or at 23 degrees of Aquarius, Leo or Taurus — this change of direction impacts you more than most, likely in the form of a surge of forward action or outburst. If you do not know where your planets are, I encourage you to find out! Schedule an appointment for a personal consultation — or order an Astro-Basics Report, both of which you can find out about here.
Also on Wednesday: Mercury leaves Gemini for Cancer at 7:24PM ET, suggesting a need to focus thoughts and communication on matters of emotional and home(land) security. By then we’ll be seeing the reflection of Thursday’s Venus-Pluto opposition, exact at 11:29PM ET. Regular readers of this forecast will recall that supercharged contact between Venus (money, women, social expression, aesthetics) and Pluto (power, resources, transformation) suggests emotional intensity and power plays in matters of finance, relationship and values. The harsh edge of Venus-Pluto is softened somewhat by an easy connection between Venus and Jupiter called a sextile. Sweet — potentially and literally — as you can see in headlines when Venus sextiled Jupiter in the past.
General caveat for the week: Mars is still in an uneasy aspect — a quincunx — with rebel Uranus, as noted last week. There is another celestial body involved — and this is Eris, named for the Goddess of Discord, discussed in the April 2016 New Moon forecast. In the language of astrology, one manifestation of Eris would be outrage expressed by those who do not feel they have a place at the table. It would be the “have-nots” rising up against the perceived “haves.” Eris will be in a tight meet-up — a conjunction — with rebel Uranus into 2017. We can expect continued disruptions and challenges to the status quo.
Eris is portrayed as a destructive, volatile energy. File these stories under “Eris — in combination with Mars and Uranus”: a Singapore Airlines (Uranus) catches fire (Mars) in mid-flight; a gun-rights advocate in Texas kills her adult daughters and is then killed by police, witnessed by her husband; several are stabbed at a neo-Nazi rally in Sacramento. I would not want to meet Eris in a dark alley…
General caveat for the next few months: Saturn square Neptune — because it’s worth a review. Here’s an excerpt from a Really Useful Forecast written in January of 2015:
The horoscope of the United States has been hit hard by Saturn and Neptune, as I’ve noted before. Donald Trump’s candidacy could arguably be filed under “pixie dust-covered fantasy.” He has an interesting pattern happening now — a solar arc between the Sun and his Leo Ascendant. This suggests recognition — usually to the upside — but it can also suggest, as astrologer Noel Tyl writes, “being seen for who one is.” Interesting to see how many recent headlines are finally calling him out for his arguably pathological pattern of lies – here — and here — and here — and anywhere else you choose to Google.
The pattern between Saturn and Neptune in 1999 was a square, corresponding to the energy of a First Quarter Moon. The pattern in 2008 — the big financial crisis/mortgage meltdown in the U.S. — was an opposition, corresponding to the illuminating energy of a Full Moon. The pattern we are in now is another square, corresponding to the energy of a Third Quarter Moon. This current Saturn-Neptune cycle began in 1989, with a conjunction in Capricorn, corresponding to the energy of a New Moon. So we see the potential in 1989 for seeds to be planted in ways that suggest an idealistic dissolution of structure/boundaries in matters related to corporate and government entities. Neptune also refers to deception, scandal, drugs, oil and toxins — so we could argue that those seeds were planted, too.
In 1999, one way we could see those seeds tested was in the adoption of the Euro, a shared currency transcending borders. Other tests were the aforementioned internet bubble and Y2K. The third hit in this current serious of challenging Saturn-Neptune patterns will be on September 10th. Here’s an example of a test from the front page of Sunday’s NYT: an expose on how emergency services delivered by companies owned by private equity firms are failing. Well, it sounded like a great idea at the time….let big business (Saturn in Capricorn) handle prisons, hospitals and other social services (Neptune). What could go wrong?
Not intending to get into a long history analysis here – just pointing out that each pair of planets operates in a relationship cycle not unlike the cycle we see repeated every month between the Sun and the Moon. Use this awareness of planetary cycles when considering the confusing meltdown happening here, in Europe and many other places. That goes for stocks falling and worth vaporizing, too. Did anyone really believe this bubble would last forever? We have all been here before. The next Saturn-Neptune cycle will begin with a conjunction in Aries in 2025. Idealization of me-me-me expression and pioneering with no bounds? Where will the self/ego begin and end? Perhaps we will all become intangible. Or pioneer ourselves on a boldly-going rocket into space.
Final note: so often I’ve seen that people who pass away under a particular planetary pattern either evoke — or actually have — that pattern in their own horoscope. In the shadow of today’s Venus trine Neptune (photography, beauty, fashion), beloved NYT fashion photographer Bill Cunningham passed away. His obituary was published on the NYT front page. RIP.
Thank you for reading this forecast.
Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 6/24/2016 & the Weekend: Keep Calm and Carry On
/in The ForecastAllrighty then!
Got halfway through writing a forecast during Wednesday’s nearly all-day Moon void in proactive Capricorn, and somehow wandered off track to put out other fires requiring immediate attention. Amazing how that happened. I’ll pick up where I left off…
Moon entered Aquarius Wednesday at 4:08PM ET, bringing a fixed, mental focus to the rest of the week. Keywords for Aquarius include friendship, humanitarian, social significance, freedom, network, circulation, technology, rebel, fringe, unconventional, futurist. A tense pattern between Mercury and Jupiter suggests a supercharged clash involving Big Ideas. Mars in ruthless Scorpio is grinding to a halt, about to turn direct next week, huzzah, huzzah. It is currently in an uncomfortable relationship with rebel Uranus in trigger-happy Aries. Mars at a virtual standstill suggests a strong focus on Martian themes of war, aggression, cars, firearms and fire…watch the news for manifestations. The retrograde status of Mars suggests delayed and/or frustrated action. July is when things are more likely to be moving forward constructively.
Two other patterns are evident in the news this week. First, Mercury’s aforementioned (in prior forecasts) challenging engagement with Saturn (ambition/depression/controls/borders), Neptune (intangibles, refugees, drugs, delusion) and Jupiter (expansion, law, media) has been reflected in more of the surreal stories we saw at the beginning of the month. The second pattern is the third easy alignment between Jupiter and Pluto, exact this Sunday at 8:10AM ET, bringing themes of power, resources and the Powers That Be into focus.
At 11:48AM ET on FRIDAY — the day I am finally posting this — Moon goes void until 10:30PM ET. Keep calm and carry on!! If you start your weekend early during void, you would likely get away with it. Chill chill chill!!!
Moon enters Pisces Moon on Friday/tonight at 10:30PM ET, facilitating compassion, empathy, wallowing, etc. — whatever soothes your frazzled soul with the understanding that We Are Not Alone. There is no void on Saturday, so shop away. The evening is marked by a bit of heavy trippiness as the sensitive Pisces Moon clashes with stern Saturn and spacey Neptune between 7 and 8PM ET. Who rained on your Saturday night date parade? Ouch.
On Sunday, the Moon goes void with a sigh at 3:55PM ET — let the shopping continue until then. Meanwhile, two exact patterns between Sunday and Monday are aces for artists and technogeeks seeking inspiration. Mercury and Uranus are in an easy alignment, exact at 10:31PM ET. There’s bound to be a tech-heavy or other out-of-this world innovative spin in the headlines. Venus in alignment with Neptune at 9:53AM ET on MONDAY can pour oil on troubled waters, for those seeking a rose-colored expression or nourishment, nurturing and healing.
No sleeping in on Monday. The Moon races into me-me-me Aries at 3:08AM ET, perhaps tripping over furniture or into a brick wall, as action hero Mars stands still, not to move forward until the 30th. Proceed, but do so with caution.
And now, the news.
Yesterday British citizens voted on Brexit, the referendum on whether Britain should stay or leave the European Union. While most of the world was shocked that they voted to leave, many astrologers were not, as they saw this strong potential using various methods of astrological analysis. You may recall my take on it — posted last Friday. Here is the link to it now — updated to reflect current events and with even more analysis of how we could see the strong potential for an upset/break out by looking at the horoscope of Queen Elizabeth.
Fun fact: the vote to leave has something in common with another Declaration of Independence — the one signed on July 4th, 1776. And this would be the Sun in homeland security-focused Cancer and the Moon in rebel/humanitarian Aquarius. Coincidence or conspiracy?
If only patterns in the Brexit chart had suggested clear, level-headed thinking. Instead, we see Mercury (mindset), recently befuddled by contact with Saturn in Sagittarius (fear and control of foreigners/borders), clashing with the challenges presented by refugees (Neptune in Pisces), without taking time to seriously suss it out further. Not so fun fact: “British Frantically Googling ‘EU’ Hours After Voting to Leave It.”, according to the Washington Post.
Meanwhile, PM David Cameron announced he would resign by this fall. The pound is plummeting, as people are freaking out. Stop it!! This too shall pass. We see the strong potential for additional break-ups between now and February 2017, with Scotland likely voting again on whether it wishes to stay in the UK.
Meanwhile during Wednesday’s Moon void, an upset in Standard Operating Procedure occurred in the U.S. Congress, when Democrats staged a sit-in to force a vote on a gun control bill. House Speaker Paul Ryan, whose Libra Moon would arguably much prefer to avoid conflict at all costs while maintaining the appearance of a rose-colored vision/fog, opted to declare Congress in recess and shut off the C-Span cameras. That’s when things got interesting. End result: still no gun control bill. Congress adjourned until July 5th. But perhaps the general public is becoming somewhat more aware of what needs to change in order for such a bill to be passed…
Much much more to talk about, but if I do, I’ll never get this posted. Have a totally awesome weekend. To schedule a personal consultation to discuss how all these exciting planetary patterns are reflected in your horoscope, here’s the 411.
Thank you for reading this forecast.
Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 6/20/2016: Full Moon; Summer Solstice; Mercury in Focus
/in The ForecastGood Morning!
After waxing to its fullness at the very end of Sagittarius at 7:02AM ET, Moon went void for barely an hour and then launched into earthy Capricorn at 7:55AM ET. Whatever that big idea of yours was, Capricorn needs to push it forward, which it aims to do for at least the next two days.
Did you note your dreams this morning? Mine were out of this world. Chalk it up to Mercury, a big player in the cosmos today, as it opposes Saturn at 10:56AM ET and then squares Neptune at 1:11PM ET. Here’s a story illustrating that potential for bewilderment over necessary controls: British astronaut Tim Peake is “nursing the world’s worst hangover” after being in space for six months. Here, he is bewildered by gravity — literally. Don’t you just love that? On Wednesday, big ideas get even bigger, as Mercury (mindset, communication, commerce, travel) squares Jupiter at 6:59PM ET.
At 6:34PM ET, the Sun enters Cancer. Happy summer solstice!
Here’s what you need to know about the first day of any season — i.e., equinoxes and solstices — from an astrological point of view. The first days of Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter correspond with the first day (or first degree) of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, respectively (there are thirty degrees in each sign of the zodiac). Got that? Good.
These four signs are called cardinal signs. Cardinal signs initiate. They come up with the idea and put it into action, which leads to necessary change. “Cardinal” suggests (from the Latin root of the word), “that on which something turns or depends.” So the first day/degree of a Cardinal sign is a turning point. In astrology, the technical term for the first degree of any Cardinal sign is the “Aries Point”, just to confuse people who are not professional astrologers. In other words, the first day of Cancer, Libra, Capricorn and Aries is the Aries Point. The first day of Taurus (and the rest of the signs) is NOT at the Aries Point).
Equinoxes and solstices are also prominent. We make a fuss over them, right? In Japan, the first day of each season is actually a national holiday. How cool is that? Thus, in a horoscope, a planet or angle at the Aries Point needs to be prominent. Off the top of my head, Meryl Streep & Elizabeth Warren (both Cancers — happy birthday!) and William Shatner (an Aries) were born with the Sun at the Aries Point. They’re pretty prominent in everything they do, don’t you think?
In the headlines today, look for leadership to be prominent. Who’s in? Who’s out?
There are no other exact aspects among the planets (other than the Moon) to report this week. Your Moon voids — natural rest periods where focusing on routine matters is an apt strategy — are as follows: Wednesday 4:57AM ET until 4:08PM ET; Friday 11:48AM ET until 10:30PM ET — ooh, another Friday to cut out early.
Two quick headlines reflecting the uplifting potential of Mercury’s contact with Saturn and Neptune (to balance the NYT’s stark and despairing homepage headline about food riots in Venezuela). First, visionary artist Christo’s latest installation in Italy will allow you to walk on (Saturn) water (Neptune). The surreal brushstrokes he adds to the real world always make me smile. Second, a barricade (Saturn) of angelic beings (Neptune) prevented delusional (Neptune) members of the Westboro Baptist Church from getting too close to the funerals of those who were killed last weekend in Orlando. Would that those Westboro folks could find a more productive hobby…
And now, I must cut out early — ending this forecast to tend to many other tasks today. I would love for one of those tasks to be a consultation with you about your horoscope. How do all these potent planetary patterns apply to YOU? Here’s the 411.
Thank you for reading this forecast and for sharing it with your friends.
Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 6/17/2016 & the Weekend: Anarchy in the UK Edition
/in The ForecastTGIF!
Moon in Scorpio goes void at 9:52AM ET on a provocative meet-up with Mars. Back away from that double espresso and chill. Take care of routine matters; roll with the twists and flakes that may interfere with your efforts to move forward in a straight line. Delay signing on the bottom line; avoid the malls; wrap up the day early if you can.
At 3:39PM ET Venus enters Cancer, facilitating efforts at beautification and nurturing until July 11th. At 11:23PM ET the boundary-dissolving, reality-bending square between Saturn in Sagittarius (structure, control, borders, foreigners, opinions, media, etc.) and Neptune in Pisces (intangibles, opiates, refugees and other keywords noted in prior forecasts) will finally be exact. File any “oh what’s the use?” feelings you may have in the folder labelled “Saturn vs. Neptune.” If you were born about halfway through Pisces, Gemini, Sagittarius or Virgo, you are more personally affected. A consultation with your local astrologer would be productive.
Relief shows up around 9:34PM ET, when the void ends and the Moon enters high-flying Sagittarius. Up for a gambol or a gamble this weekend? How can you broaden your mind, expand your horizons and/or push boundaries in a way that is constructive?
On Saturday, note your mood around 9PM ET, as the Moon makes contact with that Saturn-Neptune square. Emotions are on the rise, one way or the other, as the Moon waxes to its fullness in Sagittarius Monday at 7:02AM ET. This Full Moon has an especially trippy potential, felt a few days beforehand, perhaps recalling whatever was on your plate at the beginning of the month. The trippiness is reflected by Mercury — planet of mindset and communication — as it makes exact contact with Saturn and Neptune on Monday at 10:56AM ET and 1:11 PM ET, respectively. Mercury-Saturn contacts suggest a need for serious focus and controls. Downside: potential depression. Mercury-Neptune contacts suggest a need for creativity and vision. Downside: potential illusion/delusion. We’ll see a mix of all potentials in the headlines, I’m sure.
Exact patterns are light on Sunday, and the Sag Moon favors a round of golf or romp in nature. Be aware of the potentially wiggy Mercury-Saturn-Neptune thing and have a happy Fathers’ Day.
And now, the news.
Here’s the song by the Sex Pistols. And here’s the story behind it.
First, from yet another pit of Saturn-Neptune despair (provoked by retrograde Mars running wild), comes the senseless killing of British MP Jo Cox . I can’t possibly fathom a silver lining at this time. Her assailant reportedly shouted “Britain first!” during the attack. This is a reference to Brexit, a referendum on whether Britain should stay in the European Union. The vote happens on June 23rd. While columnists and editors at the NYT clearly feel an exit would be folly, what does Britain’s horoscope say?
Alas, under the influence of the ambition-killing Saturn-Neptune square, I can’t muster up the energy to look it up. But off the top of my head, I do recall the Queen’s horoscope having the first of three transits of rebel Uranus to her Ascendant last month –and the third one won’t happen until next year. In addition to reflecting her choice of a fabulous electric green birthday suit last week, Uranus-Ascendant patterns suggest a need for greater freedom and independence — often felt in relationship, potentially leading to a break-up, move or other disruption of the status quo. Uranus transits can be surprising and often shocking. Uranus co-rules the Queen’s First House. The other co-ruler is Saturn, which rules her Capricorn Ascendant. The Ascendant refers to the way she — and by extension, Britain — needs to be seen by others.
You see, once upon a time, only kings and queens consulted with astrologers, as it was in the horoscope of the ruler that the fate of a nation could be divined. We shall see if this theory of synchronicity holds true in more modern times.
Let’s continue.
We also see transiting Mars conjunct — i.e., on top of — the Queen’s Midheaven and Saturn. Mars transits to the Midheaven suggest action — any form of assertive/aggressive energy, whether acted out or acted upon. This includes the potential for attacks and accidents — and I’d argue that the assassination of Labour MP Jo Cox reflects that potential for attack. Mars rules Her Majesty’s Second House, referring to matters of money, values and self worth.
We also see the Queen’s Venus at 13 Pisces in her natal Second House, currently under pressure from transiting Saturn, Neptune, Jupiter and Mercury. Venus refers to enjoyment and money, among other concerns. Transiting Jupiter to Venus suggests a jolly (90th birthday) good time, but transiting Saturn to Venus can be experienced as isolating and streamlining, in financial as well as social arenas.
UPDATE (as of June 24th): On June 23rd, UK voters elected to leave the European Union. The world is shocked. Prime Minister David Cameron has resigned. The British pound has plummeted. I took a closer look at the Queen’s horoscope and noted two important measurements coloring the first half of 2016, both of which were exact in May. One is a solar arc between Saturn and Mars, referring to the Queen’s/Britain’s identity and self-worth/assets. Astrologer Noel Tyl describes the potential as follows:
The second solar arc involves Neptune and the Midheaven. Neptune co-rules the Queen’s Second House (along with Mars). Quoting Noel Tyl again, we see the potential for:
Let the record show that the Washington Post offers this headline, “The British are frantically Googling ‘EU’ Hours After Voting to Leave It.” Losing it, perhaps? Said one British voter:
Coincidence or conspiracy? God Save the Queen!
UPDATE: Bernie Sanders, who will have the third hit of expansive Jupiter to his Virgo Sun on Saturday, did not end his campaign yesterday. However, he did vow to work together with Hillary Clinton to defeat what’s-his-face. Planetary patterns in his chart for the rest of the summer and into fall suggest a need for a zealous application of emotional energy. At the end of the year we see a Sun-Uranus measurement suggesting greater freedom and independence. Talk of him establishing a third political party does not seem unreasonable, especially as he will continue to experience transiting Uranus to Mars and Venus into 2017 as well. Translation: walking his talk, generating an intense buzz.
Best Saturn (control) -Neptune (drugs) proposal I’ve read all day: Congresswoman Gwen Moore is sick of poor people being stigmatized. She’s proposing that anyone who itemizes more than $150,000 in tax deductions must submit to a drug test in order to claim the tax break.
Finally, a bit of delight from NPR for people who believe the world would be a much happier place if “please” and “thank you” were used more often.
