Tuesday 8/1/2023: Late Sneak Peek at the Week; Full Moon in Aquarius; Burn, Baby, Burn

Happy Full Moon in Aquarius!

We can expect a surge of energy and a flood of sobering illumination at the beginning of the week, potentially ending with a grand indulgence. Key patterns this week are:

  • Full Moon in Aquarius on Tuesday
  • Mars trines Jupiter on Tuesday
  • Mercury opposes Saturn on Tuesday
  • Sun squares Jupiter on Sunday

That’s it.

  • MONDAY: It came and it went, driven by a proactive Moon in Capricorn. Did you Make Things Happen, supported by the innovative pragmatism of a Moon-Uranus trine, exact at 12:28 PM ET? A softness to the edge, perhaps, around 7:54 PM ET, as Moon sextiles Neptune. A focused power play or catharsis may build to a release around 10:12 PM ET, as Moon meets up with Pluto. Chill during the two-hour Moon void. Moon shifts gears and enters Aquarius just before midnight, traveling without interference until 2:31 PM ET on…
  • TUESDAY: …when Moon opposes the regal Leo Sun. Aquarius refers to humanity and what’s best for the greatest good. Leo refers to personal ego recognition and the divine right of kings. A Full Moon in Aquarius illuminates this inherent conflict. Who will win? Meanwhile, the surge of energy anticipated in the early part of this week reflects the trine (easy flow) between Mars — action, assertion — in perfection-seeking Virgo and Jupiter (expansion) in earthy Taurus, exact at 4:44 PM ET. Moon squares Jupiter at 9:37 PM ET, adding bombast or buoyancy to the mix. Countering the enthusiasm is the sobering reality check — or incisive controls of an opposition between Mercury (how we need to think) and Saturn (structure, authority, controls), at 10:17 PM ET.

Here is the chart for the Full Moon in Aquarius, set in Washington, D.C.:

Observations:

  • Sun is in the 9th House; Moon is in the 3rd House — oh joy, oh joy! This shines a spotlight on matters of communication — especially messaging, as well as foreign affairs, higher education, the media, philosophy, religious dogma, publishing and such.
  • The 28 Leo Midheaven is where Venus stationed retrograde last week. Venus is conjunct the Midheaven. Will people with planets or angles at 28 Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio, or Taurus find themselves more in the spotlight than most?  Biden, Obama, Joe Manchin, Gym Jordan, and the former guy immediately come to mind.
  • In addition to the high energy of the aforementioned Mars-Jupiter trine, and the gravitas of the Mercury-Saturn opposition, this Full Moon embodies the disruptive buzz of a square between Venus (money, art, social expression, values, women) and Uranus. Expect unconventional alliances and sudden breaks; along with demands for freedom of expression. That pattern will be exact next week.
  • The Sabian Symbols for this Full Moon are (for the Moon) “a popularity that proves ephemeral,” and  (for the Sun) “early morning dew.” Astrologer Lynda Hill digs deeper into the meaning of the Moon’s Symbol with “a man who had been for a time the embodiment of an ideal is made to realize that he is not this ideal.”  In both Sabian Symbols, Hill sees the potential for waking up after a long period of being in the dark. Here is her take on the Sun’s Symbol.   Keep these Symbols in mind, and keep an eye on Georgia in the aftermath of this Full Moon.
  • You are more personally affected by revelatory potential of this Full Moon if you have planets or angles around 10 degrees of Leo, Scorpio, Taurus or Aquarius. That includes Jerry Garcia, Jason Momoa, Lyle Lovett, Toni Collette, and Lisa Marie Presley. Doesn’t matter if they’re dead or alive…the horoscope lives forever.

Back to the Forecast:

  • WEDNESDAY:  Uranus squares the Aquarius Moon at 11:44 AM ET, surprise, surprise. Illumination on matters of personal values vs. what’s best for the greater good may be released around 5:15 PM ET, as Moon opposes Venus. Chill during the six-hour Moon void. Roll with the twists and flakes that may disrupt efforts to move forward in a straight line. Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill of crisis, as howls of indignation that arise during voids are often much ado about nothing. Chill — and avoid impulse purchases, if you please. At 11:05 PM ET, Moon changes gears and enters Pisces, now seeking empathy, impressions, and ideals.
  • THURSDAY:  A Moon-Saturn conjunction at 7:52 AM ET starts the day with a heavy focus. Karma can be such a bitch. A Moon-Mercury opposition at 11:02 AM ET suggests an effort to separate facts from feelings. Expansion and provocation color the evening hours, as Moon sextiles Jupiter at 9:19 PM ET, and then opposes Mars at 11:14 PM ET.  For the next 12 hours, Moon travels without interference. How does this impact your sense of time passing? Does it slow it down? That’s what I asked Avid Readers to share in last week’s Forecast, and here’s what Avid Reader Seble said:
Monday was such a wild day for me with how TIME was unfolding. As it’s,  I have huge mysteries issues with TIME. I had to change 5 clients schedule in most unprecedented manner. Then I was feeling like swimming in ocean of time- loosing sense of time as I worked with each of them. I knew there was something happening in the cosmos with the planets, but couldn’t figure it out. So yes your new insight is correct to me from this experience.
  • Avid Reader Demetrius said:

My Monday did indeed feel very “open road”. Love days like that for productivity galore, and great thinking/processing.

  • Thanks for chiming in, Avid Readers!
  • FRIDAY: An innovative approach with unconventional alliances can help work out the bugs in the system this morning, as Moon sextiles Uranus at 11:34 AM ET. Head for the nearest body of water or watering hole, supported by Moon’s conjunction with Neptune (water, dreams, escapes, music, fog, etc.) at 6:59 PM ET. A sextile to Pluto at 9:20 PM ET adds depth. Chill during the two-hour Moon void. Note the change of pace as the Moon charges into Aries at 11:19 PM ET, driving the weekend with a need to get things started and get there first. Watch out for overconfident and/or overbearing me-me-me-first drivers, as you move about the country. We have another lonnnnng stretch of the Moon plowing through a sign without interference or input from the other kids in the cosmic sandbox. Not until 9:40 PM ET on…
  • SATURDAY: …does the Moon make contact with anything, and in this case it’s a trine (easy flow) between the Aries Moon and the Leo Sun. Take an arguably runaway fiery Aries Moon and combine it with the fiery Leo Sun (which is expanded by a square to Jupiter, exact on Sunday), and I wonder what burning desires, burning questions and just plain burning will drive this weekend.
  • SUNDAY: It’s another long stretch of Moon in Aries a-go-go-go, as it travels without input for most of the day, harmonizing with fun-loving Venus in Leo at 4:34 PM ET. At 8:02 PM ET, the Sun squares Jupiter. Here are headlines from past Sun-Jupiter squares. Note that Jupiter is now close to an exact contact with the lunar eclipse we had in May, so things that were hiding in plain sight back then are likely to be suddenly seen, especially around the New Moon of August 16th.

No sleeping in on Monday. The Moon will be in Taurus — not void — working to calm things down.

Here is Beth Owl’s Daughter’s Tarot Card for the Week — always in sync with planetary patterns. It aptly reflects the practical realism of today’s Full Moon.

And now, the news.

If you’d like to listen to an astro-logical take on last week’s sobering news about Israel, Mitch McConnell, Sinead O’Connor, check out Episode 45 of “Off the Charts: A Stellar Newscast,” with my co-host Whitney McKnight. Yes, this episode is for patron subscribers, and here’s what Avid Reader/Listener Jane has to say about it:

One of your best episodes. It was informative, a little whimsical ; just entertaining. I feel like a learned a LOT about astrology and transits and how it’s playing out in a real, useful and practical way. Loved it!!! PS what is the difference between cazimi and conjunction?

Jane’s question is answered in the Comments section of the episode. Episode 46, which will air on Friday, will be available to all listeners, not just patrons. Please subscribe, leave comments and enjoy!!

As for more news…

…historian Heather Cox Richardson’s latest is a wonderful validation of observations made in this Forecast over the years. On July 29th, she devoted her Letter to President Biden’s focus on foreign policy, as anticipated in the 2023 Summer Solstice chart, and in plenty of earlier posts about Biden’s 12th house Sun (working deals behind closed doors, with an insider’s perspective), reaching out to be of influence in matters of foreign affairs, legal theory, higher education, and other collective belief systems. Biden’s Scorpio Sun rules his 9th House.

Last night, she continued to list President Biden’s successes, focusing now on the US economy, and quoting a couple of professorial analysts:

“Bidenomics is proving to be the most impactful and transformative public investment program since FDR’s New Deal, with even Morgan Stanley acknowledging that economists broadly underestimated the positive effect of Bidenomics.”

The continued comparison of FDR to Biden is music to my ears, which you would understand if you’d read my August 2021 Charts in the News column for Mountain Astrologer. Astrology is amazing.

Meanwhile, HCR notes another story that is perfectly in sync with planetary patterns. Mars refers to motor vehicles. It’s trine Jupiter, suggesting an easy flow of action, for better or worse. Mercury is opposing Saturn, suggesting sobering news. Venus is retrograde, refers to money, and is in-between two upsetting squares to Uranus. Yesterday, the trucking company Yellow filed for bankruptcy, putting at least 30,000 out of work. This story stinks — and further study of the astro-logic is merited — but you can find out why the story stinks in this bit from CNBC. But basically, hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars (i.e., COVID loans) were given to Yellow after key players in the former guy’s administration intervened…over the objections of the Defense Department, which was suing Yellow on allegations of fraud when the loans were made in 2020.

Elsewhere…

In anticipation of the jackpot potential of this weekend’s Sun-Jupiter square, here’s a story about 11 women in India who collectively bought a three-dollar lottery ticket and won the equivalent of $1.2 million dollars.

Meanwhile…

Practically every story in the Sunday New York Times was heavy stuff about cuts, losses and streamlining (Mercury opposing Saturn = heavy). This article is about streamlining, but with a helpful bent:

Finally…

...I added a few fun things to this website. I used to have another website which hosted my portfolio of movie posters, Must-See TV NBC radio spots, and other goodies from my past life in film and TV marketing. I decided to close that site and move a few favorites to a new page here. It’s called PAST LIFE…and there you have it. Those were the days…and they were good ones.

Here’s the 411 on personal consultations. We will have a fun and productive discussion together. Yes, I am available for speaking engagements. I love explaining how astrology works to people who have not studied it.
