Monday 3/22/2021: Late Sneak Peek at the Week
Moon is in Cancer, driving the day with a need for emotional and home/homeland security. Moon functions well in Cancer, and it travels through the day without interference. I hope you made good use of this proactive energy. I applied it with gusto this morning, in the wake of last night’s trine between Mars (action!) and Saturn (discipline!), combined with the focused fire of the Sun and Venus in Aries. It seemed the perfect time to pull out the (fiery) stove and deep-clean the (Cancer) kitchen floor. Oh, how it sparkles now!
And you? Are you sparkling?
- TUESDAY: Moon makes its weekly clash with Pluto at 11:26 AM ET, apt for a purge, catharsis or power play. Chill in the ensuing void, i.e., focus on routine concerns and don’t make a mountain of crisis out of a molehill. Take time to wander if you can — maybe take in some lovely springtime air. Moon enters Leo at 5:56 PM ET, looking for a way to shine, shine, shine — and party on, dudes. Make way for drama queens and kings — and watch your mouth between now and 11:26 PM ET. Why? Because Mercury — how we need to think and communicate — is muddling its way through Pisces, where feelings prevail over facts. And at 11:26 PM ET, Mercury squares Mars (action! aggression!). We may hear of accidents caused by people trying to multitask (Mars is in Gemini), while their brains are in a fog. A war of words would not be unexpected, and what is said may have an especially regal flair, befitting a day with Moon in Leo. In the news, this item about the former guy allegedly planning to launch his own social media platform in a few months seems aptly timed.
- WEDNESDAY: More Moon in Leo, starting with a revelation or disruption of the status quo around 9:45 AM ET, as Moon squares rebel Uranus. Controls tighten around 1:37 AM ET, as Moon moves into an opposition with streamlining Saturn. Plans are put into action around 4:08 PM ET, as Moon sextiles (harmonizes with) Mars.
- THURSDAY: The day begins with a wave of enthusiasm, expansion or (over)indulgence, as Moon opposes Jupiter at 9:27 AM ET. Whatever hits the wires could carry the whole day away — but it may be just an entertaining distraction, reflecting the Moon void in Leo for the entire business day!!! Not until 11:25 PM ET does the Moon actually focus itself when it enters Virgo (to clean up Leo’s party and sort everything out). You know the Moon void advisory — and here it is in detail if you don’t. Chill out — and roll with the twists and flakes.
- FRIDAY: Venus meets up with Sun in Aries at 2:57 AM ET, when matters of social expression, women, money and aesthetics may feel burned to a crisp, or as if they are scorching the earth, or otherwise manifesting with fiery and insistent passion, albeit potentially idealized or blinded by their own light. Moon in Virgo’s mission of making things perfect in every detail may be supported by unconventional alliances, as Moon trines Uranus at 2:57 AM ET. Moon squares Mars at 10:16 PM ET — possibly bringing up an echo of whatever difference of opinion was in your face on Tuesday.
- SATURDAY: Note your dreams in the morning, as Moon opposes wiggy Neptune at 11:05 AM ET. By now we may all be under the influence of a pattern exact on Monday, which is Neptune’s meet-up with Mercury. Sounds like a good weekend for fuzzy math, music, meditation, vision quests and other creative escapes, though do note that emotions are on the rise, as the Moon is almost Full. But first — Moon goes void at 7:46 PM ET — chill for the rest of the night.
- SUNDAY: Moon enters Libra at 1:22 AM ET, now focused on a need for fairness and balance in relationships. Well, guess what? The Full Moon is exact at 2:48 PM ET, pitting the expression of the me-me-me Aries Sun (and Venus!) against the we-we-we need of the Libra Moon. Who will win? We may anticipate illumination and release in matters of diplomacy, partnership and relationship. We may also encounter a certain closed-circuited mindset, as in “my mind is made up and I don’t need any input from you” — and perhaps its made-up mind will relate to the battle that occurred under Tuesday’s Mercury-Mars clash. Hmm. It may also relate to the idealism of Neptune’s meet-up with Mercury, which includes surreal conspiracy theories as well as divine inspiration. The closed-circuited mindset refers to Moon, Mars and Saturn in a relatively rare configuration called a Grand Trine, and all three planets are in Air Signs (Libra, Gemini and Aquarius, respectively). This emphasis on Air (intellect) is an apt reflection of Beth Owl’s Daughter’s Tarot Card of the Week, which just happens to be the Ace of Swords — and Swords represent the element of Air! I will write more about the chart for the Full Moon later this week.
And now, the news.
One look at the headlines (as I type close to 10 PM ET), and I’m hoping some of the piercing intellect of this week’s planetary patterns will involve serious discussion (followed by action) on the subject of gun control. News of yet another mass shooting in the United States (this one in Boulder, CO) reflects the gloopy-thinking Mercury in Pisces square to restless warrior Mars in Gemini, supported (for better or worse) by the high-functioning ambition of Saturn. Consider this headline and look again at the Aries Ingress chart in the last forecast. Mars is at the bottom of the chart — the root of the situation.
On the upside, we see themes discussed in the Aries Ingress chart in this headline: “Biden Team Prepares $3 Trillion in New Spending for the Economy,” starting with infrastructure, as Mars-Saturn word if there ever was one.
Meanwhile…
Another reflection of this week’s “war of words” patterns:
- “Senate prepares for showdown over the filibuster.”
- “USPS chief Louis DeJoy said to cut post office hours, lengthen delivery time in 10-year plan”
- [Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy author] “Douglas Adams’ note to self reveals he found writing torture”
Meanwhile, militant discipline and innovative technology were themes in this article on facial recognition technology (it’s everywhere) in the NYT Sunday magazine.
UPDATE: on Ellen DeGeneres, whose 2020 was mighty disruptive, as transiting Uranus rattled her Aquarius Sun and Venus. Here’s a post about her from last August. Now, with Saturn putting the squeeze on Ellen’s Sun and Venus, the streamlining results of last year’s scandal are coming in. After the first of three squares to Venus, Ellen has apparently lost one million viewers. By this time next year, we would not be surprised by a significant change of direction, as patterns from “change or die” Pluto affect her Sun and Midheaven (career status).
UPDATE: on Tucker Carlson, whose 2020 was mighty empowering. A few years ago, when there was talk of Carlson tossing his hat into a presidential ring, we could see in his horoscope how he was likely to become more prominent. Thanks to the pile-up of planets in Capricorn supercharging his self-image and beginning a climb to the top of his chart, Carlson’s influence has expanded so much that last week, John Oliver felt compelled to make Carlson the focus of his entire show — with good reason.
What’s going on in your horoscope? Are you due for a rise or a raise? A split or a summer fling? Here’s the 411 on personal consultations. We will have a fun and productive discussion together.
