Monday 5/6/2024: Sneak Peek at the Week; New Moon in Taurus

Allllrighty then!

It’s a new week, with a New Moon, backed by patterns of constructive support. Highlights are:

  • Sun sextiles Saturn on Tuesday
  • New Moon in Taurus on Tuesday

The buzz building over the weekend reflects the Sun’s annual meet-up with rebel Uranus next Monday.

It goes like this:

  • MONDAY: we are at the end of the lunar cycle, with no light from the Moon. But today is driven by an Aries Moon, which needs to go-go-go anywhere, for the sake of taking the lead and getting something started. But what if the Moon has been void since 1:57 AM ET — and won’t get meaningfully focused until it enters Taurus at 5:42 PM ET? Well, that would reflect any twists and flakes that disrupted your planned routine, or why your wandering focus has gotten you nowhere. However your day went, let’s hope you didn’t make a mountain of crises into a molehill. If you slept in late, good for you. Once Moon enters Taurus, which needs to establish material comfort and security, a concerted resistance-is-futile effort may be had, reflected by the power play or catharsis of the Moon’s square to Pluto at 9:08 PM ET. Intense, but likely effective, reflecting the cooperative alignment of the Sun (leaders) and Saturn (structure; ambition) as they form a sextile at 1:42 AM on…
  • TUESDAY. Much can be accomplished under the radar today, in this dark of the Moon. A meet-up of the Moon and Venus at 10:04 AM ET could be sweet and steady, and further practical support is suggested by the Moon’s sextile to Saturn at 10:01 PM ET. At 11:21 PM ET, the New Moon in Taurus officially begins.

Here is the chart for the New Moon, set in Washington, DC:

Observations:

  • A Taurus Moon needs to plant seeds for creating material comfort and security. From the U.S.’s perspective, those seeds are being planted in the 5th house — of children, creativity, entertainment, and speculative ventures.
  • Mercury and Chiron are at the root of this horoscope. Mercury refers to children, so there’s an interesting echo. Mercury also refers to news and conduits of information. The conjunction to Chiron (a.k.a. the physician to the gods who could not heal his own wound), suggesting a healing crisis afoot — and how interesting that Mercury and Chiron are in Aries, which rules the head.
  • Squaring the Sagittarius Ascendant of this chart is Neptune at the verrry end of Pisces. The square to the Ascendant at the very end of its sign suggests things are about to change; the die is cast; it’s all over but the crying or the shouting. But with Neptune there is also the caveat that things may not be what they seem.
  • Even though the set-up for this New Moon is one of stable support (via the past sextiles to Saturn), next is comes the upset to the status quo, noted here by the Sun and Moon’s  next aspect: a conjunction with rebel Uranus. Something new and revolutionary is on the horizon, and it may involve women, art, values, and/or money. I say this because another “next aspect” in this chart is a sextile between Venus and Saturn. The Sun-Uranus conjunction and the Venus-Saturn sextile both happen next Monday. Watch the headlines.
  • It’s interesting that this New Moon is happening at 18 degrees of Taurus, which was highly activated on August 1, 2022. It’s where we had a triple conjunction of Mars, Uranus, and the North Node, and back then we anticipated “dramatic action potential,: with an upside potential being liberation. Other potentials include change, wake-up calls, seismic activity and other shocks to the system. Here’s what was happening. Astrology is amazing, and this New Moon is activating the action potential of that 2022 triple conjunction and its seeds for growth.
  • Speaking of growth, the Sabian Symbol for this New Moon is “a newly-formed continent,” as in “a powerful force that creates a new land,” says astrologer Blain Bovee. We are advised to watch for stories that “stretch reality; cover a large territory; involve emerging nations.” That sounds big on the world stage.
  • You are more personally affected by this New Moon if you have planets or angles around 18 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. Off the top of my head, that includes Vladimir Putin, Volodomyr Zelenskyy, NYT columnist David Brooks, Mark Zuckerberg and Leonardo diCaprio.

Back to the Forecast:

  • WEDNESDAY: Moon’s meet-up with chaos agent Uranus at 7:18 AM ET suggests a jolt or surprise revelation, followed by focused expansive indulgence, as Moon meets up with Jupiter. Let the record show that Jupiter is now within orb of the fixed star Algol, associated with losing one’s head (literally), but also may suggest a fiercely-empowered (as in “hell hath no fury”) feminine force. Over the next several days, Jupiter will activate eclipses we had in November 2021 and May 2022, so if your horoscope was affected then, you’re affected now. Public figures affected include Joe Biden and that guy who was found to be in contempt of court yet again (on Monday). Have a cocktail around 5:55 PM ET; Moon’s sextile to Neptune supports your spirited escape. Moon then goes void for 90 minutes, before entering Gemini at 7:20 PM ET. Depth is added to the drive to the smartest kid in the room.
  • THURSDAY: A sextile between the info-seeking Gemini Moon and Mars in rarin’-to-go Aries at 6:47 AM ET gets you up and at ’em. Moon travels without interference for the rest of the day, possibly running wild on whatever hits the wires. Controls kick in the closer we get to 1:02 AM ET on…
  • FRIDAY: when the pixie-chatterbox Gemini Moon’s need to be cute and clever is blocked (squared) by the reality check of Saturn. Get the message out around lunchtime, in the flow of a sextile between the Moon and Mercury at 1:13 PM ET. The evening could be a sublime escape, as Moon squares Neptune at 9:49 PM ET and then goes void for 90 minutes. At 11:12 PM ET, Moon enters Cancer, prompting a weekend spent enjoying the comforts of home, family — and yes, even Mom this Sunday (it’s Mothers’ Day).
  • SATURDAY: the only exact aspect is a square between Moon and Mars at 2:36 PM ET. Choose your battles carefully; feelings could be hurt.
  • SUNDAY: A perfectly lovely day for the Cancer Moon, supported by a sextile to Venus and a trine to Saturn at 3:57 AM ET and 7:10 AM ET.  More balance and time with unconventional allies are supported in the afternoon, as Moon sextiles the Taurus Sun and Uranus, at 4:34 PM and 5:28 PM ET. Oh…but there is that buzz humming in the background, reflecting the Sun’s meet-up with Uranus at 5:13 AM ET. Uranus often manifests ahead of schedule, and if aviation, technology, seismic action, astrology and/or revolutions are making news, I won’t be surprised. Obviously there will be no sleeping in on Monday. Headlines from past Sun-Uranus conjunctions are here.

And here is Beth Owl’s Daughter’s always-in-sync Tarot Card of the Week.

And now, a wee bit of news…

These two reflect the potentially innovative approach to housing we might see in the wake of the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Taurus:

Everywhere I look, I see Neptune at the verrry end of Pisces

Take Neptune in Pisces’ shimmery sparkles and mix it with tonight’s Moon, Venus, Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus. It all adds up to this year’s Met Gala, with its “Garden of Time” theme. Just look at those dresses…

…and the news will continue later this week, as right now, in this moment in time, I’m feeling like Beth Owl’s Card of the Week — and pausing for station identification.
