THE
I am a reporter with a unique beat. I use my understanding of planetary cycles to provide advance notice and analysis on the Zeitgeist of the day. If you have ever wondered “why is this happening now,” my insights will transform your experience of the headlines, adding new meaning and understanding. Call it Astrology for News Junkies. If you’re curious to know why the Impossible Burger is trending…or why the outcome of the 2019 Israeli elections was likely to be a shocker …or why “Woodrow Wilson, Stud Muffin” was a New York Times headline in December 2013, you will find it here, in over a decade’s worth of historical research and reporting.
Note that I do use astrological jargon in The Forecast in my effort to show how the planetary patterns are reflected in mundane events. I explain what the jargon symbolizes, so that all who want to understand the connections between astrology and the news may do so. However, I do not use astrological jargon in personal consultations, just plain English.
Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 9/23/2010
/in The ForecastBusy night…leading into another pro-active day. Start by noting your dreams this AM.
Moon moved into me-me-me Aries at 4:47AM NY, reaching fullness at 5:17 AM NY by opposing the Sun at zero degrees of Libra, the very beginning of that sign. Recall what I wrote yesterday about the first day of a new season being exceptionally powerful and driven to be noticed! Now add in a FULL MOON — illumination — happening on the same day. Turbo-charged — if you choose to actually do something with the dynamic forces at your disposal. So…DO something…perhaps following up on your New Moon agenda from two weeks ago — the one about how your authentic creative self is being of service, whether your process needs a bit of refinement and how going with your gut may offer clues to greater efficiency and discernment. You will likely have plenty of opportunities for action today…even if you do have to create them yourself.
Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 9/22/2010
/in The ForecastToday marks the last day of summer — the Sun is at the end of Virgo and will move into Libra at 11:09 PM NY tonight and then…happy Autumnal Equinox…a perfect balance between day and night.
The first day of each season is especially powerful. We are immediately alerted to the likelihood of change and the beginning of a new cycle. These days are prominent, noticed and in some cultures even celebrated. The astrological signs that mark the seasons are Aries (spring), Cancer (summer), Libra (fall) and Capricorn (winter). Thus if you are born on or near the first day of those signs, or you have a planet or ascendant within the first two degrees of those signs, you will likely have a drive to be noticed in whatever areas of your life that planet signifies. For example, William Shatner, whom I wrote about a few weeks ago, has really been making headlines this year. His Aries Sun is right at the beginning of the sign and that Sun is — or recently was — being transited by Pluto, Saturn, Uranus and Jupiter (all in the current Big T-Square Party) at the beginning of Capricorn, Libra and Aries, respectively. This man can’t help but be noticed, especially now!
Libra is a airy, mental sign, generally concerned with relationships, social graces and with promoting fairness, justice and balance. This does not mean Librans are balanced; it means they generally are seeking balance and are quite capable of swinging back and forth wildly as they search for it. As sweet as Libra can be, they are not marshmallows. The term “iron fist in a velvet glove” often applies. Jimmy Carter is a Libra — and yes, points in his chart are being triggered by that Big T-Square Party right now, pushing him back into the headlines, along with a heavy mantel of gravitas courtesy of an authoritative, tell-it-like-it-is Saturn transit about to hit Carter’s Libra Sun.
About today: with the Sun at the beginning of Libra, it is joining the current Big T-Square Party (see forecast for 7/27 if you don’t know what that is). Thus we can expect a lot of activity — especially pro-activity. Be mindful of the potential for overloads and short circuits in your system, including your technology. Keep your grounding cord down and move forward. Note we are warming up for a particularly active Full Moon early tomorrow AM — watch this space for details — and watch the headlines for grand statements on social policy over the next few days — fairness, justice and balance in relationships.
Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 9/21/2010
/in The ForecastAre you thinking about redecorating your home? If so, pick out the colors and other aesthetic elements before October 8th if you can. Venus, planet of love and beauty will be going retrograde on that date for about six weeks. The chances of falling in love with beautiful things that really aren’t our style are higher when Venus appears to move backwards in the sky. What you fall in love with in October and November may not suit you come December. And yes, that applies to relationships, too.
As for today — big news is the opposition of expansive Jupiter and rebellious Uranus to the Sun in perfectionist Virgo. Somewhere there is someone who doesn’t want to be constrained and wants to be recognized as socially significant no matter what the risk. We’ll see what the headlines bring…
Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 9/1/2010
/in The ForecastCoincidence or conspiracy? Tuesday evening I am at my computer working, when suddenly I hear these words of substance (see yesterday’s forecast): “Thank you. May God bless you. And may God bless the United States of America, and all who serve her.” I look up and see that it is 8:19PM NY time; Moon has just come out of its “no-consequence” Void and moved into Gemini. All of a sudden one of the websites I had open on my computer screen has started broadcasting Obama’s speech — or at least the last three sentences of it. Cue “Twilight Zone” theme song now…
Moon is in Gemini until early Friday morning. People born with Moon in the airy, mental sign of the Twins have a need to inform with cleverness and charm — and they are often adept at arguing both sides of a situation, thus finding it difficult to make a decision. If you’re dealing with information overload today, re-focus on the big picture — possibly the one you had in mind on the New Moon three weeks ago. A grounded connection from disciplined Saturn to possibly scattered emotions can help you chart your course today.
Meanwhile, if you’re thinking of planning an escape this weekend, the aspects do bode well for it. Moon in Gemini would love to help you gather the information for that possibility if you haven’t made plans…
Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 9/20/2010
/in The Forecast9:09AM NY/6:09 AM LA starts off with a meet-up between nebulous Neptune and the Moon (our reigning need), which then goes void until 4:15PM NY/ 1:15PM. Take note of your dreams. A morning meditation could be transporting — as could other forms of connected bliss. If you have trouble getting out of bed (especially on the West Coast) and otherwise dealing with reality, know that others may be having similar experiences — the “flake factor” is high during these periods — so be patient and flexible — especially with scheduled meetings and set agendas. Doublecheck your calendar and confirm your appointments. If you’re an artist relying on inspiration for a living, today is a good day for brainstorming. For more details on Moon Voids, please see the bonus forecast posted after 8/4/2010 — if you haven’t read it already.
After the Void, Moon will be in watery Pisces, a sign which needs, to quote my teacher, “to identify the ideal, understand impressions and work with the intangible”. Sounds like the afternoon and evening will bring more of the same texture as the morning, only with a mindset and intention that’s actually in gear.
