Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday & Wednesday 8/25-26/2015: Contraction, Meet Expansion; Virgo on My Mind
Contraction…followed by expansion. This we can expect when we have a major Saturn transit, as we did on Friday when it squared the Leo Sun. Saturn refers to contraction and controls. Tomorrow the Sun meets up with Jupiter, which refers to expansion, optimism. Although Jupiter IS in Virgo for the next year, and as noted in earlier forecasts, Jupiter in Virgo favors expansion of what is small. How’s your portfolio doing? Isn’t it interesting that U.S. markets are “bouncing back” after Monday’s dramatic drop? How long will that last? Might there be some value in the study of planetary patterns, especially when one observes that patterns do repeat themselves? If anyone has an answer to that question, let me know.
Today the Moon is cruising through Capricorn, an enterprising sign that needs to make things happen. This energy flows without conflict until around 11:33PM ET, when a meet-up with potent Pluto suggests a potential power play, intense advance or emotional catharsis. A shake-up or revelation might show up around 9:41AM on Wednesday, when the Moon is challenged by rebel Uranus.
On Wednesday, barely half an hour after that Moon-Uranus clash, mental Mercury makes an easy connection to Saturn, facilitating a steady, practical and efficient approach in mindset and communication. This constructive aspect has been in effect for a couple of days, so hopefully you’ve made good use of it. Meanwhile, the expansive Sun-Jupiter meet-up in Virgo will be exact at 6:02PM Wednesday, and if you’re a Virgo born in the very early part of the sign, I hope it brings a nice boost to your day — perhaps even your week. This is a pattern often described as “lucky”, and anyone with a planet or angle at around 2 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Sagittarius and Gemini is likely to experience it.
A few words about Virgo, which is where the Sun has been since Sunday. Virgo is an earth sign (as opposed to fire, water or air). It is also a mutable sign, as opposed to cardinal or fixed. What does that mean? Cardinal signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn; they need to come up with the idea and take action. Fixed signs are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius. These signs need to organize and give form to the concepts pitched by cardinal signs. Mutable signs — Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces — get to spread the word about the cool form the fixed signs made. Got it?
Virgo is ruled by Mercury, which also rules mindset. Virgo is symbolized by a virgin with a shaft of wheat. Its keywords are I ANALYZE. Virgo needs to apply its mental energy to discernment and discrimination, as it separates the wheat from the chaff. Planets in Virgo are likely to be happy when they are appreciated for perfecting things or people. In health matters, Virgo rules the intestinal tract and assimilation. If you have planets in Virgo in your horoscope, and they are under a great deal of developmental tension, you may have some issues with your digestive system, especially how your system absorbs nutrition from food.
Virgo also refers to service, workers and food production. It is fascinating to see that one of the most-viewed articles in the Sunday NYT — the day Sun entered Virgo — is an op-ed written by a restaurant worker in a high-end restaurant. Called “Dinner and Deception,” we could attribute the “deception” part to Jupiter in Virgo’s approaching opposition with nebulous Neptune, along with the current Venus retrograde, which is not inclined to maintain the usual veneer of social graces we see when Venus is direct.
What’s going on in your horoscope? Now is the perfect time to schedule a personal consultation. Find out why you are the way you are; why things are happening when they happen; what’s likely to happen and why you can’t seem to wash that man or woman out of your hair. If you have children, spending half an hour learning about their horoscopes will enable you to better understand their needs and challenges, thus improving your relationship.
