Monday 6/3/2024: Sneak Peek at the Week; New Moon in Gemini

Allrighty then!

We have a week that begins with the potential for a diverse assortment of bright and clever ideas and ideals, backed by a high-functioning drive to walk the talk. Humming in the background are two patterns exact over the weekend which suggest that with a bit of discernment, discipline and adjustment, a number of these bright ideas could be brought to life in a lasting form. Highlights this week are:

• Mercury enters Gemini on Monday
• Mercury trines Pluto on Tuesday
• Mercury meets up with Jupiter on Tuesday
• Venus meets up with the Sun on Tuesday
• New Moon in Gemini on Thursday
• Venus squares Saturn on Friday
• Mars enters Taurus on Sunday
• Sun squares Saturn on Sunday

It goes like this:

• MONDAY: is driven by the Moon in Taurus. Keep calm and carry on is an appropriate mantra, with a  supercharged start to the day around 5:04 AM ET, as Moon squares Pluto. Moon travels through the rest of the day without interference; work on building your empire.
• MONDAY:  At 3:36 AM ET, Mercury (how we need to think and communicate) enters Gemini, one of the signs it rules. Gemini is speedy, deft and clever, usually engaged in several tasks at once.  Mercury in Gemini has a better knack for juggling and analyzing information, compared to other signs, so make the most of this opportunity to get the facts straight and agree to terms. Mercury leaves Gemini on June 17th. Meanwhile, the information that comes out early this week may be larger than life. I say this because at 2:12 AM ET on…
• TUESDAY:… Mercury trines Pluto (a.k.a. the Powers That Be) and meets up with Jupiter at 6:23 AM ET. Watch for big news involving the media, courts, higher education, and sports — as these are all matters related to Jupiter. Power plays and news from underground would be apt for Pluto.  Anyone with planets around 2 degrees of Gemini, Pisces, Virgo, and Sagittarius is more affected than most; keep an eye on President Biden and VP Harris. [UPDATE] Biden may sign a ‘sweeping executive order’ today aimed at “curbing migrants at the US-Mexico border”.
• TUESDAY: A sextile between Moon and Saturn (authority; ambition) helps form a practical strategy for bringing ideals to life. The ideals reflect the Sun’s conjunction with Venus, exact at 11:33 AM ET. Whenever a planet meets up with the Sun, it marks the beginning of a new cycle, same as the Moon does each month on the New Moon. Many astrologers consider Sun-Venus conjunctions lucky for love and money, and if you stumble across social media posts raving about the “cazimi Venus,” that’s what they are talking about. “Cazimi” means “in the heart of the Sun.” An image of a phoenix comes to mind, as it is burned to a crisp and emerges from the fire, unscathed, purified, and ready to begin anew. Wherever 16 degrees of Gemini falls in your horoscope is where you may plant seeds for growth that comes from authentic expression of who, what, and how you need to love. A revelation or surprise twist to the evening agenda may arise around 7:03 PM ET, as Moon meets up with rebel Uranus.
• WEDNESDAY. Note your dreams upon waking. Moon’s sextile to Neptune at 4:08 AM ET may open channels. Moon enters Gemini at 4:36 AM ET, driven by a need for information and chit-chat. Optimism, depth and expansion can be had as Moon trines Pluto at 7:45 AM ET and meets up with Jupiter at 8:49 AM ET. Word gets out around 12:46 PM ET, when Moon meets up with Mercury. By now we are at the end of the lunar cycle, with no light from the Moon to guide us.  The restlessness of Moon (and so many other planets) in Gemini may have us on edge, sensing that an impending fresh start.  If your agenda is top secret, the lack of light from the Moon supports clandestine meetings.
• THURSDAY: New Moon in Gemini begins at 8:37 AM ET. Here is that chart, set in Washington, D.C. We set it for Washington to see how this cycle is likely to play out for the United States. If we wanted to look at the U.K., we’d set the chart in London.

Observations:

• A Gemini New Moon suggests a focus on new ideas, new mindsets, new ways of communication, and gathering information. Your thoughts and your words can move mountains. Be open to expanding your channels.
• Gosh, there’s a big pile-up of planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter) in the 11th House — of hopes, wishes, and benefactors. The 11th House also refers to groups of like-minded souls and administrative bodies — themes to watch the US in this lunar cycle.
• Rebel Uranus is running wild in Taurus, not connected with any other planet. In Taurus, Uranus “coincides” with disruption and innovation in material comforts, e.g., money and infrastructure. Uranus is conjunct Capulus, a fixed star noted  in recent posts. Capulus is one of a few patterns associated with “masculine” assertion, for better or worse — and this is how we may see it in the headlines.
• Echoing Capulus, we have Mars near the end of Aries, where it functions with high efficiency. I’ve put Eris in this chart because we are seeing it reflected in the news. Eris is the Goddess of Discord, one that is willing to burn the whole house down for a seat at the table. Eris is now sitting between Mars and Chiron, the Wounded Healer. It forms the midpoint picture Eris = Mars/Chiron. Translation: wounded warriors or would-be healing crusaders are likely to express themselves in non-negotiable extremes.
• Neptune is at the verrrrry end of Pisces and it is in the 9th house — e.g., of courts, the media, collective mindset, higher education, foreign affairs, travel. Saturn is also in the 9th house. Neptune dissolves whatever it touches; Saturn’s aim is to streamline, structure and control. So we have these two competing players in the aforementioned 9th house areas.
• The Moon’s next stop (after the Sun) is a meet-up with  Venus in pixie-chatterbox Gemini, offering an opportunity for creative play. Next up: Moon and Sun will square Saturn. This offers a push to clearly define terms and conditions, albeit in Signs (Gemini and Pisces) which are more comfortable entertaining multiple possibilities simultaneously. But if you are comfortable herding cats (like these cowboy heroes), you can thrive!
• The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon seems to incorporate much of what I just wrote about Mars (which rules the head), Neptune, and all these Gemini planets. “The head of health dissolved into the head of mentality,” which astrologer Blaine Bovee opines is a “refined intellectual awareness of an issue that comes to a head.” Venus shares this Sabian Symbol with the Sun and Moon, and astrologer Lynda Hill has thoughts on how it offers us an opportunity to succeed by becoming the adults in the room.
• You are most personally affected by this New Moon if you were born around the 6th of June, September, December or March…or if you have planets or angles around 16 degrees of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, or Sagittarius. Off the top of my head that includes Michelangelo, Shaquille O’Neal, Rob Reiner, and Marsha Blackburn.

• THURSDAY (cont): Moon meets up with Venus at 9:36 AM ET — sweet. Moon squares Saturn at 1:18 PM ET — stern. Use the rest of the day to do your homework assignment or come up with a clever Plan B.
• FRIDAY: Another morning to note your dreams. Moon’s sextile to Mars at 6:21 AM could be invigorating. Moon’s square to Neptune at 8:15 AM ET may prolong the use of your snooze button. Moon enters Cancer at 8:40 AM ET, now focused on establishing emotional comfort and security and traveling without interference for the next 35 hours. Humming in the background are two patterns that may be constructive or uncomfortably controlling, for better or worse.  First, at 4:25 AM ET on..
• SATURDAY: Venus (women, money, the arts, and social expression) squares Saturn. Hard contacts between Venus and  Saturn (a square is a hard contact) suggest a chilly response in relationships. It suggests budget cuts, profit losses (keep an eye on the markets), and other forms of downsizing. Women who mean business are likely to make news. A balancing response or a cushion to an otherwise hard landing is suggested by Moon’s trine to Saturn at 7:07 PM ET, with possible added input from Mars, now truly at the very last degree of Aries  and in “now or never mode.”At 12:34 AM ET on…
• SUNDAY…Mars (our need for action, assertion and aggression) exits Aries and enters Taurus. If Mars in Aries is the irresistible force (fiery, fast and direct), Mars in Taurus is the immovable object (earthbound, slow and stubborn). Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi both have Mars in Taurus, and they are nothing if not enduring, right? Mars will be in Taurus until July 21st.  Mars will square Pluto on June 11th and meet up with Uranus on July 15th (the first day of the Republican National Convention). The former suggests extremes of action and aggression; the latter suggest innovative technology and/or reckless, rebellious disruption. The upside potential of Mars in Taurus is dogged persistence, especially if you’re on the side of the angels. You are more personally affected by Mars’ ingress into Taurus if you are Queen Elizabeth II (doesn’t matter that she’s dead; the horoscope lives forever), King Charles III  or President Biden (both have Moon at 0 degrees Taurus), and Clarence Thomas (Moon at 1 Aquarius). All may be more assertive or provoked over the next few days, especially next Monday/Tuesday, when Mars will square Pluto.
• SUNDAY: Cooperative input from unconventional allies or technology, as Moon sextiles Uranus at 5:26 AM ET. Sun (leaders, vitality, the heart) squares Saturn (cuts, losses, controls, mortality) at 6:35 AM ET. Headlines from past Sun-Saturn squares are here and here. FYI, in that second link, you’ll find a list of people whose horoscopes will be supercharged by transiting Mars and Uranus in Taurus,  especially in the middle of July.
• SUNDAY: Moon goes void on a trine to escapist Neptune at 3:05 PM ET; have a second Bloody Mary for brunch. At 3:28 PM ET, Moon enters rip-roarin’ Leo, which needs a truckload of love and adoration, frankly. But when that need is fulfilled, it is like the rising tide that lifts all boats. Now is the time to throw a party or a regal tantrum or (preferably) find a stage on which to shine. If you have a mission that requires great force, good for you. At 4:24 PM ET Moon squares Mars and opposes Pluto at 6:50 PM ET. Keep an eye on the sportsball games this afternoon; they may be epic.  Otherwise, please be mindful in traffic, and choose your battles carefully, as some may be driven to extremes. These patterns offer a sneak peek of the action to come by Tuesday, when Mars squares Pluto.
