Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 12/16/2013: Uranus Direct; Venus Retrograde; Sneak Peek at the Week

Good Morning!

Ready for things to get interesting? I hope so! We’ve got two planetary shifts and a Full Moon this week, followed by two weeks of intense/volatile action-oriented energy, courtesy of willful Mars challenging the never-ending Uranus-Pluto square. The Mars pattern will impact you more personally if you were born around the 1st of April, July, October or January…or if you have a planet or angle around 8-12 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn. But first things first.

Today the Moon is waxing full in Gemini, intensifying a need for all sorts of information communicated in a most clever and entertaining way. Emotions are building to a release — or a big buzz — tomorrow, offering illumination on the New Moon projects you launched two weeks ago. And with a Gemini Moon, that release may be all over the place. Gemini is better known for its ability to multitask; it is not known for its focus. How fascinating then, to see a big story about Attention Deficit Disorder in Sunday’s New York Times.  I have Moon in Gemini. What were we talking about? Ah yes, focus.

While the lunar energy is building, two planets are at a virtual standstill as they prepare to change direction. Rebel Uranus, which has been retrograde since July 17th, turns direct at 12:39PM ET on Tuesday. Uranus refers to revolutions, sudden seismic events, rebellion, innovation, genetic mutation, accidents, aviation, space travel, technology, astrology, uranium, rocket scientists, mad scientists, lightning and genius, to name a few. So we may see movement in the headlines on these areas  — and in fact, we already have. Last week, scientists announced the surprising discovery that an underground volcano in Yellowstone is much, much bigger than previously believed. China, which recently went through transiting Uranus and Pluto to its Libra Sun, has an unmanned rover on the Moon. Pretty emancipating and empowering, eh?

On Saturday, Venus will turn retrograde, impacting social expression, aesthetic senses and matters of money, art and love. Are you thinking about redecorating your home? If so, it’s best to avoid picking out colors and other aesthetic elements when Venus is retrograde. The chances of falling in love with beautiful things that really aren’t our style are higher when Venus appears to move backwards in the sky. What you fall in love with at the end of December and through January may not suit you come February. And yes, that applies to relationships, too.  Gawd forbid there should be an election during a Venus retrograde, as there was in November 2010. How many of those fresh, sexy candidates turned out to be coyote dates once elected, hmm?  On the plus side (perhaps), Venus retrograde suggests opportunities to reconnect with friends and lovers from the past. More on that later this week.

Get it off your desk this today or wait to ship until after Tuesday’s Moon void — 4:28AM – 1:17PM ET. The only other Moon void during the work week is on Thursday 11:37PM ET until Friday 1:48AM ET….no big deal.

A personal astro-logical consultation would make a lovely gift — for yourself or a special someone on your holiday shopping list. I have  festive gift certificates to email or snail mail — here’s the 411.
