I am a reporter with a unique beat. I use my understanding of planetary cycles to provide advance notice and analysis on the Zeitgeist of the day. If you have ever wondered “why is this happening now,” my insights will transform your experience of the headlines, adding new meaning and understanding. Call it Astrology for News Junkies. If you’re curious to know why the Impossible Burger is trending…or why the outcome of the 2019 Israeli elections was likely to be a shocker …or why “Woodrow Wilson, Stud Muffin” was a New York Times headline in December 2013, you will find it here, in over a decade’s worth of historical research and reporting.
Note that I do use astrological jargon in The Forecast in my effort to show how the planetary patterns are reflected in mundane events. I explain what the jargon symbolizes, so that all who want to understand the connections between astrology and the news may do so. However, I do not use astrological jargon in personal consultations, just plain English.

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 6/28/2011
/in The ForecastWhile you were sleeping, Moon moved into Gemini, sign of the chatterbox pixie, where it immediately makes a challenge to nebulous Neptune. Note your dreams and be mindful of the potential fuzzy buzz you or others may be experiencing in the early waking hours. The rest of the day can be a productive whirlwind of ideas and communication, with a particularly sharp stance taken around 2:22PM ET.
Re-read yesterday’s forecast on the potential manifestations of ruthless Pluto opposing Sun and watch the headlines for more news from underground (e.g., oil, mines, radiation), and other Pluto-ruled arenas: corruption, sex, death and resources, to name a few. Here’s one, for starters: Blagojevich guilty in corruption trial http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/28/us/28blagojevich.html?hp
Meanwhile, if you’re thinking of taking Friday off, Moon will be void-of-course all day. Sounds like a plan if you can swing it.
Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 6/27/2011
/in The ForecastWhen rebel Uranus and proactive Mars hook up, as they do early this AM, innovation rules the day. Watch the headlines for technological breakthroughs. In your own personal world, think different. Explore a new approach to an old problem — without whining about it. Make the change!
Moon goes void in patient and/or stubborn Taurus at 12:24PM ET, not to enter Gemini until 3:56AM. New Yorkers, you’ve got the morning to get it off your desk; Angelenos, yours could be a total day of rest, brainstorming and likely twists in your efforts to move in a straight line. Given the Moon void’s tendency to make mountains out of molehills, you are advised to do your darnedest to refrain from engaging in petty power plays and confrontations suggested by ruthless Pluto’s opposition to the Sun at 1:18AM Tuesday ET. There will be likely be plenty of legitimate serious stuff more worthy of your time and focus.
Here’s a reprint of portions of Friday’s forecast, noting the dominant pattern of the week, with a few correlating headlines hitting the papers so far:
The Big T-Square Party among the heavies (Pluto, Saturn and Uranus) likely makes its influence felt even more than it already has through next week. A lengthy post about this key planetary pattern was first published here around July 21st of last year – you can find it on my website) Sunday at 6:14AM erratic rebel Uranus in devil-may-care Aries squares the emotional security-needing Sun in Cancer. A declaration of independence, a seismic jolt or other status quo disruption will likely be felt in a big way beforehand. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/25/nyregion/a-sense-of-euphoria-settles-on-the-west-village.html?scp=9&sq=gay%20marriage%20new%20york&st=cse
Ruthless Pluto opposes Sun just after midnight on Tuesday, adding intrigue, exposed corruption, power plays and news from underground (radiation, mines, oil, to name a few examples). http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/26/us/26gas.html?pagewanted=3&_r=1&hp http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/26/world/americas/26mine.html?hp Controlling, patriarchal wet blanket Saturn squares the Sun next Saturday, the day after yet another eclipse. Who’s going to be feeling it the most? Those born on the 25th of March, June, September and December — give or take a day or two. Also those having a point or planet at 4-5 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.
Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 6/24/2011 and the Weekend: Big T-Square Party Alert
/in The ForecastIt may feel as if the edge has softened, compared to yesterday, but perhaps not by much. Moon is still in me-me-me Aries, encouraging proactivity, but not so much sensitivity, unless its your sensitive feelings getting trampled on by the ego trip of another. Lingering fallout from the confusing haze suggested by the week’s strong aspects from Neptune is likely in effect, too. Note the potential for a verbal sparring or other mind f*ck around lunchtime on the East Coast; West Coasters, that may hit your desk first thing this morning. Moon goes void at 6:07PM ET on a happy connection to loving Venus, suggesting relief and a good long chill this evening.
No yard sales or impulse shopping on Saturday, if you please. Moon doesn’t enter Taurus until 4:53PM. Catch up on your beauty sleep and relax until then. Not that Moon in Aries is known for its restful quality. Yoga, golf or some other form of physical activity that also calms the mind may be in order. The evening favors sensual/material pleasures — with enthusiasm, bordering on the overindulgent. That’s your Important Safety Tip.
The Big T-Square Party among the heavies (Pluto, Saturn and Uranus) likely makes its influence felt even more that it already has through next week (a lengthy post about this key planetary pattern was first published around July 21st of last year — exact date escapes me) Sunday at 6:14AM erratic rebel Uranus in devil-may-care Aries squares the emotional security-needing Sun in Cancer. A declaration of independence, a seismic jolt or other status quo disruption will likely be felt in a big way beforehand. Ruthless Pluto opposes Sun just after midnight on Tuesday, adding intrigue, exposed corruption, power plays and news from underground (radiation, mines, oil, to name a few examples). Those born on the 25th of March, June, September and December — give or take a day or two. Also those having a point or planet at 4-5 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. If you don’t know where those degrees fall in your horoscope, why not consider booking an appointment to find out…
Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 6/23/2011
/in The ForecastAudio feeds crashing, cell phones forgotten, other things misplaced and misnamed — that’s what I’ve been hearing about yesterday’s 24-plus hours of Moon void in free-flowing Pisces, under the influence of a Neptune rose-colored fog. What about you?
Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke seemed to be in a bit of a fog during yesterday’s press conference in which he gave a halting, uninspiring account of the Fed’s economic projections on inflation, unemployment, etc. over the next couple of years. Nothing of consequence was said (the markets were unmoved by the speech). I’m not an economist, but I do study planetary patterns. And when I look at what’s going on with the horoscope of Greece, for example, and I see equally intense patterns building in the horoscope of the United States (exact in 2014), the more convinced I am that the status quo, whatever it is, is bound to be disrupted and transformed. Meanwhile, late July to mid-August is likely to be very hot in Greece (again), and I am not referring to the weather.
In other news, last night President Obama spoke of “the tide of war receding”. What is it with these ocean metaphors? Neptune, ruler of oceans, so prominent? It is true that yesterday’s Sun-Neptune connection holds potential for peace and enlightenment, suggesting a fitting time to announce a withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan. And perhaps we should be focusing more on oceans than on wars, as suggested here http://www.truth-out.org/scientists-warn-oceans-marine-life-brink-extinction/1308765143 and here http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/climate-of-denial-20110622?page=1 — with both articles published yesterday.
In your own personal world, how is that new way of thinking progressing (recall the themes suggested by this month’s New Moon)? Another challenge/illumination may inspire you to take action when Moon enters pioneering Aries at 4:24AM ET and squares the Cancer Sun at 7:48AM ET. A faster pace than yesterday prevails, marked by a potential jolt — or bolt — from the blue around lunchtime on the East Coast, followed by a potentially powerful and/or cathartic encounter around dinner time.
General note for the next several days: the potential for storms, seismic activity or other news from underground is elevated. Watch the headlines (tornado watch in New Jersey yesterday!) for details.
Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 6/22/2011: Nebulous Neptune in the News
/in The ForecastKeep your grounding cord down as the Moon in soulful Pisces continues its free fall, not to enter the next sign, Aries, until after midnight. For details on the energy of a void-of-course Moon, check out the ESSAYS section on my website, www.graceastrology.com. If you must move in a straight line today, then move you must; just be advised that the chances of getting off track are increased, so roll with whatever twists may come your way. If you do have freedom to float, follow your bliss. Creative and healing activities are highly favored.
Two powerful aspects from nebulous Neptune in its home sign of Pisces are exact today. Neptune squares aggressive Mars and trines the life-giving Sun. Neptune tends to dissolves whatever it touches, especially structures and other material things. Clouds, fog, glamor, charisma and other intangibles such as music, photography, healing and spirit are related to Neptune. When Neptune is strong in a horoscope, things may not be as they seem. Fact checking and reading the fine print more than once becomes essential.
How might Neptune square Mars manifest in an individual horoscope? For one possibility, look no further than today’s front-page profile of would-be president Michele Bachman http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/22/us/politics/22bachmann.html?hp Sarah Palin has this aspect. So does Glenn Beck. Newt Gingrich and Bill Clinton also have intense connections between Mars and Neptune (not squares, however).
In the headlines yesterday I noted a few Neptune-influenced stories in the headlines. In the business world, it was noted that the debt-ridden city of Harrisburg, the capital of PA is appealing to God to help solve its financial woes with a three-day prayer and fast in which the mayor will participate http://blogs.reuters.com/faithworld/2011/06/18/harrisburg-pennsylvania-turns-to-god-for-fiscal-relief/ In the media, a UK newspaper apologizes for publishing a sex scandal that turned out to be fake http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/story.asp?sectioncode=1&storycode=47324&c=1 …and so was this press release announcing that a US company had been accused of fraud http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/06/21/china-accounting-hoax-idUSN1E75K0ON20110621 Meanwhile, JP Morgan Chase will pay millions to settle with the SEC over charges it misled investors http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303936704576399971570631618.html?mod=googlenews_wsj And finally, we have this front page story about an innovative new camera http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/22/technology/22camera.html?hp
