Friday 9/21/2018 & the Weekend: Autumnal Equinox; Mind the Voids; Sun, Mercury & Saturn at the Aries Point
TGIF and hello from Omaha, Nebraska!
By the time you read this, the Moon will be void in Aquarius, wandering and wondering about being of social significance and meeting up with a network of best buddies. The void begins at 1:13 PM ET and lasts until Saturday at 8:27 AM ET. Roll with the twists and flakes that may divert your efforts to move forward in a straight line. Chill and stick to routine concerns; remember that crises arising during voids are often much ado about nothing.
Meanwhile, today marks the last full day of summer — the Sun is at the end of Virgo and will move into Libra at 9:55 PM ET on SATURDAY and then…happy Autumnal Equinox…a perfect balance between day and night.
Libra is a airy, mental sign, generally concerned with relationships, social graces and with promoting fairness, justice and balance. This does not mean Librans are balanced; it means they generally are seeking balance and are quite capable of swinging back and forth wildly as they search for it. As sweet as Libra can be, they are not marshmallows. The term “iron fist in a velvet glove” often applies. That “iron fist” may be especially prominent over the next few days, as the Libra Sun squares patriarchal Saturn, exact on TUESDAY the 25th. Here are a few headlines from a past Sun-Saturn square.
More sobering thoughts are likely to pull focus and be activated, suggested by SUNDAY’s Mercury-Saturn square at 12:46 PM ET, followed by a trine (harmony) between Mercury and Mars at 9:30 PM ET. What kind of thoughts and actions? With the Moon in Pisces driving the agenda all day Saturday, Sunday and most of Monday, watch for empathy, suffering, alcohol, victims, floods, refugees, oceans, faith — the usual Piscean themes. Note that emotions are on the rise, as we are warming up for Monday’s Full Moon, exact at 10:52 PM ET. This adds a me-me-me, rush-rush-rush Aries drive to the heavy Sun-Mercury-Saturn mix. If you have planets around 2 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn, you will be more personally affected. Just ask Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who has Mercury and Venus in early Capricorn. On this all-day Moon void, the NYT thought it would be fun to report that last year, Mr. Rosenstein discussed the 25th Amendment as a coping strategy for P45 (which arguably any sane and ethical public servant would have done). I hope this story is truly a much ado about nothing Moon void crisis, and it may be, given that Vice President Sean Hannity has just advised P45 not to fire anyone. Do you think that Mr. Hannity’s horoscope has planets at the Aries Point? It does. And transiting Saturn will be putting the squeeze on it very soon.
And now, the news.
Reflecting the potential for toxic release suggested by tomorrow’s meet-up of Mars and the South Node:
- “Lagoons of Pig Waste are Overflowing After (Hurricane) Florence. Yes, That’s as Nasty as It Sounds.”
- North Carolina dam near power plant is breached, likely sending coal tar into the Cape Fear River
- FUN FACT: in 2011, the North Carolina legislature “literally passed laws against science on sea-level rises.”
- “‘Stop This Disaster:’ Brazilian Women Mobilize Against Far-Right ‘Misogynist’ Bolsanaro” (he could be Brazil’s next president)
- “3D gun rights activist detained in Taiwan over underage sex claim”
- P45 — via tweet — wonders why Dr. Christine Blasey Ford didn’t report allegations of sexual assault when it happened when she was 15 (in 1982); a dam bursts on Twitter, as the hashtag #WhyIDidn’tReport goes viral
Meanwhile, Moon will be void in Pisces between 1:26 AM ET and 7:04 PM ET on MONDAY. No biggie if you sleep through your alarm. This is the day Brett Kavanaugh was supposed to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee about Dr. Ford’s allegations. Or not. On an all-day Moon void, we see a higher probability of twists, flakes and surprise upsets by underdogs. This story has been changing by the hour (Friday). Now Kavanaugh and Ms. Ford might testify on Wednesday, another all-day Moon void in feisty Aries.
Early Friday morning Mitch McConnell (R-KY) vowed that he and his Republican colleagues were just going to “plow through it” and seat Judge Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court. As you recall from my post on July 14th, McConnell’s stubborn, overkill approach to winning friends and influencing people was eclipsed on July 27th. Next week transiting Mars will trigger his eclipsed Venus-Pluto opposition (overkill approach), and I wish I could promise you it will be experienced as a tide turning that is not in his favor. However, the surge could go either way. We’ll look at this again for Monday’s forecast.
We do have an unconfirmed birth date for Dr. Ford: November 28, 1966. If this is accurate, she is a Sagittarius with Moon in Gemini. She would have Pluto, Uranus and Mars at 20, 23 and 27 degrees of Virgo — all of it triggered by transiting Sun and Mercury in Virgo between today and September 16th. Her natal Saturn would be 22 Pisces, giving the Mars-Neptune square in the U.S. horoscope a major reality check. Mars square Neptune suggests macho magnetism in all forms, some of which may be delusional or drug/alcohol induced. This is fascinating — if the date is accurate. Her Sun would be squared by Kavanaugh’s Saturn. We could see the potential for interaction with him to be a imposition of control upon her.
In other news, if you’re looking for a reflection of sobering news, spiked with prominence (Mercury square Saturn at the Aries Point), this in-depth NYT report, “The Plot to Subvert an Election: Unraveling the Russia Story So Far” is a must-read.
Thank you for reading this forecast. Now I’d like to talk about you. What’s going on in your horoscope? How can you maximize opportunities for growth during these extraordinary planetary patterns? Seriously, while it may seem as if the whole world has gone bonkers, in your own personal universe we see much potential for breakthroughs. But don’t take it from me, take it from Avid Reader Robin, who was inspired to send in this rave:
Elisabeth Grace is a brilliant Astrologer. She gets right to the point and it’s unfailingly
relevant to whatever motivates a person to schedule an Astrological consult.
I found my discussion with her to be quite pertinent to my concerns and the insights
I gained have empowered me.
A consult with Elisabeth is worth the time and money.
And her fee is reasonable.
Thank you, Robin. I am honored to be of service. Here’s how to contact me. FYI, I will be in Los Angeles from the 28th through October 9th…would be delighted to schedule an in-person consultation.
