Tuesday 3/15/2022: Late Sneak Peek at the Week; Full Moon in Virgo

Alll-righty then!

It’s the last week with the Sun in Pisces – – which means it’s the last week of the astrological year.  We’re still processing the dreamy/flowy fallout of the weekend’s Sun-Neptune conjunction in Pisces. If the first few days of this work week feel a bit wiggy, perhaps you were more personally affected. Significant planetary patterns this week are:

  • Mercury sextiles Uranus on THURSDAY
  • Full Moon in Virgo on Friday, followed by a sextile between Venus and Uranus
  • Venus squares Uranus on Saturday
  • Sun enters Aries on Sunday

Here are the details:

  • MONDAY:  A Leo Moon drives the action of the day with a need to shine – and help others shine, too. If you got up on the wrong side of the bed, you were personally affected by the Moon’s opposition to Mars, at 3:17 AM ET, followed by a clash of aesthetics, suggested by Venus opposing the Moon at 5:59 AM ET.  Around 3:02 PM ET, any jolt or surprise revelation was sponsored by the Leo’s Moon square to rebel Uranus. These planetary patterns are happening among planets in Fixed Signs — i.e., Taurus, Leo and Aquarius. Fixed signs are the immovable objects. Kick them at your own risk.
  • TUESDAY: the day dawns with a dose of gravitas, reflecting the regal Leo Moon’s opposition to Saturn, exact at 6:55 AM ET. What edicts did the local drama king or queen issue NOW? Whatever it was, don’t make a mountain out of a molehill of perceived crisis — which just might happen in the 18-hour Moon void. Better to roll with the twists and flakes that may disrupt your efforts to move forward in a straight line. If meetings are canceled or you sleep through your alarm, don’t worry. Do take time to wander and chill if you can. Mind the void!
  • WEDNESDAY: Moon enters Virgo at 12:58 AM ET, determined to set things right. Get organized– and think outside the box, using the innovative energies that are at play through Thursday. Moon opposes Mercury at 10:08 PM ET — demanding practical details from those spouting big dreams. — and offering a preview of the promise of the Full Moon on Friday. You can work to create a more perfect union by soliciting cooperation from others, especially power players.
  • THURSDAY: if you wake up with a big, bright idea, write it down. That creative spark reflects the sextile between Mercury and Uranus, exact at 8:13 AM ET — followed by the Moon’s opposition to Jupiter, exact at 9:43 AM ET. Moon opposes Neptune at 7:02 PM ET, reflecting divine inspiration that may carry us away as Moon waxes to exact fullness at 3:17 AM ET on...
  • FRIDAY: Virgo’s Moon’s need for perfection in every detail now challenges the big dreams symbolized by planets in Pisces. How will you bring them down to Earth? Here is what the Full Moon looks like, set in Washington, D.C.:

Observations:

  • The planets are in a bucket formation, with the Virgo Moon serving as the handle of the bucket. The Virgo Moon’s need for perfection drives everything in this chart!
  • The Moon’s next aspect is a trine to Pluto, exact at 4:11 AM ET. The drive for perfection has depth and power — for better or worse.
  • The Sun’s next aspect is a sextile to Pluto — exact in the afternoon. This pattern suggests cooperation among leaders, power and power sources — and I referred to it indirectly on Wednesday. Did you use it in your quest for world domination?
  • Venus — which refers to who, what and how we need to love (and also women, aesthetics, money and worth) is in Aquarius, seeking to be everyone’s best buddy. Unconventional attractions may strike like lightning — perhaps like lightning in a bottle? We’ll know it when we see it on Saturday. Meanwhile, Venus is sandwiched between Mars and Saturn –– the planets of action/aggression and authority/streamlining — and this condition (the technical term is “besieged”) definitely puts a crimp in this would-be best buddy’s style. This feeling of being caught between a rock and hard place continues until March 28th, when Venus finally catches up with — and moves past — Saturn. After that, Mars will catch up with Saturn — and these two together suggest a highly focused expression of militant discipline that may be related to Vladimir Putin.
  • The other cluster of planets is Mercury-Jupiter-Neptune-Sun — all in Pisces, going with the intuitive dreamy flow for the sake of faith, hope and charity (upside) or deceptions, denials and delusions (downside).
  • The Sabian Symbols for this Full Moon are: “A fertile garden under the full moon” (for the Pisces Sun) and “a bald-headed man” (for the Virgo Moon). The potential for abundance suggested by the “fertile garden” aptly reflects Beth Owl’s Daughter’s always-in-sync Tarot Card of the Week.  The “bald-headed man” makes me immediately think of Putin, as a bald head is also a dome — which Sabian Sage Blain Bovee observes is “echoic of dominion and domination.” That, and the way another Sabian Symbol expert (Lynda Hill), explains it. Of the fertile garden, Bovee once observed:

Sometimes you have to go broke before you understand what richness is all about.

Sometimes a poor business strategy must completely collapse… whither away in a winter of discontent… before a well-grounded sense of meaningful commerce can arise.

Sometimes, you just have to save your head in order to let your hair grow back in naturally

  • Bovee’s take makes me think that the image of a bald man may be used as inspiration for all of us to cut away whatever no longer serves. If you happen to have a garden in the northeast right now, you know what I’m talking about. The garden is probably shaggy, with dead plants that need to be taken out to make room for new blooms, right? And those new blooms will be out any day now — as Spring is almost here!
  • You are more personally affected by this Full Moon if you have planets or angles around 27 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini and Sagittarius. That includes Alexei Navalny, off the top of my head.

Back to the Forecast:

  • FRIDAY: After a three-hour void, Moon enters Libra at 7:25 AM ET, driving the next few days with a need for diplomacy, fairness and balance in relationships. The aforementioned sextile between Sun and Pluto is exact at 3:37 PM ET. Meanwhile, if your Friday night date is an unconventional attraction, there’s a good chance you’re getting along just fine, given the Libra Moon’s trine to Mars and Venus at 12:28 AM ET and 4:52 AM ET, respectively.
  • SATURDAY: 7:16 AM ET may present a wake-up call, as the Venus-Uranus square is exact. It could also be a break — for freedom? Oddly enough, the next aspect is a stabilizing trine (harmony) between the Moon and Saturn, exact at 7:58 PM ET. Note that today is the last day of the astrological year, with the Sun at the verrrry end of Pisces. Remember that planets at the end of Pisces can reflect a feeling that the whole world is about to end! But the world tells us otherwise, all the time, thanks to the magic of cycles. Pisces may be the end of one cycle, but a new one will soon begin. Remember this — and don’t despair! Note also that the Sun is at the Aries Point — and we can thus expect prominent headlines involving leaders of state and business over the next few days.
  • SUNDAY: Moon goes void on its weekly clash with Pluto, exact at 8:39 AM ET.  A power play or emotional catharsis — or perhaps the earth will move. The Sun enters Aries at 11:33 AM ET — and I’ll write about this change of seasons later this week. Meanwhile, Moon enters Scorpio at 11;44 AM ET, starting the astrological new year off with a demand for depth and control.

And now, the news.

UPDATE: on the Royal Family. We anticipated news involving themes of being provoked or being exceptionally assertive, as March 6th’s Venus-Mars conjunction at 0 Aquarius activated a number of their horoscopes. How about “Reported Comment by Prince William About Ukraine Creates Temporary Crisis for Royal Family.” Astrology is amazing.

The weekend’s magical, musical, compassionate Sun-Neptune conjunction was everywhere. The NYT Magazine presented its annual music issue. Meanwhile, a video of “Peace Train” performed by Yusuf/Cat Stevens and musicians from all around the globe made the rounds on social media. “Peace Train” is a song from my childhood.

  • “Pig sounds are associated with emotions, scientists found.” Score another one for scientists. Have they not read “Charlotte’s Web?” Neptune refers to empathy — but perhaps these wake-up calls about living creatures on Earth who are not human will result in a rapid change in how we treat them, especially with respect to our food chain. I say this because Uranus — planet of disruption — will be halfway through Taurus in mid-May, and that’s when I expect to see a flood of tangible manifestations of its potential.

It’s now Tuesday morning — I couldn’t finish the news last night. Reflecting the 6:55 AM ET opposition of the Leo Moon (kings and queens) to Saturn (mortality), I awoke to find journalist Greg Olear’s latest creation in my inbox. It’s called “The King Must Die: a Play in Five Acts,” and it incorporates the fairytale quality of the Sun-Neptune conjunction into an easily-digestible account of the story of Russia/Putin’s quest to reclaim Ukraine, starting in 2014. Isn’t it interesting how the title alone in Olear’s essay reflect current planetary patterns? Also in my inbox: astrologer Bill Herbst’s weekly essay. It’s called “Topsy-Turvy,” an apt title for the influence of bewildering Neptune with Jupiter-Sun in Pisces. I’ve been reading Herbst’s musings for over a decade, and it was his work that introduced me to mundane astrology, i.e., how planetary cycles are reflected in global development. Herbt is more of a pessimist than other authors I follow but he’s accurate in his observations.

Historian Heather Cox Richardson is an optimist, perhaps because she is someone who clearly sees repeating patterns in U.S. history and thus can appreciate that we have been here before — and survived. Her post from March 12th outlines a few significant turning points.  Another optimist was brought to my attention over the weekend under Neptune’s wiggy spell. If you are intrigued by channeled information, you’ll appreciate astrologer Pam Gregory’s interview with Zac/Zacharia, “who is also an aspect of the Ascended Master Dwjal Khul, channelled through Janet Treloar.” I found Zac’s view that the horoscope is embodied in the heart quite fascinating — and apt for today’s Leo Moon!

Meanwhile, yesterday’s Moon-Uranus square and its potential for rebellion and shock was aptly embodied by Marina Ovsyannikova, an editor at Russia’s Channel One, who rushed onto the set of a live newscast, holding a sign that said “NO WAR. Don’t believe the propaganda. They’re lying to you here.” She has reportedly been “detained,” but a video she recorded before mesmerizing the world with her courage is also making news.

Today’s Leo Moon is an apt time to share Avid Reader Jen’s musings on Leo’s potential, inspired by her nephew, Rex. Though he left this world a few years ago (far too soon), his noble heart still beats — literally.

Back to the influence of Sun-Jupiter-Neptune in Pisces, which we would expect would give a boost to intangible arts and pixie-dusted glamor. Its award season in the film and television industry, and ratings for the award shows are up, up, up. The Oscars are just around the corner, and on the latest SNL, fictional film critic Terry Fink offered his convoluted Oscar predictions. They’re convoluted, of course, because Neptune, which no doubt inspired another wonderfully surreal sketch about a cat’s mysterious whereabouts.

That’s the news for now. Later today Whitney Fishburn and I will record another episode in our “Off the Charts” podcast — and we’ll be talking more about Neptune’s reflection in current and upcoming headlines. It’ll be released later this week, so stay tuned. If you’ve listened to our earlier episodes, and have comments to share, please post them on iTunes.

Ukraine still stands. May the courage of her people rally the rest of the world to finally get serious about creating a truly humanitarian Aquarian Age.

Thank you for reading this forecast. Glory to Ukraine.
