Tuesday 4/5/2022: Late Sneak Peek at the Week; Mars Conjunct Saturn; Jupter Conjunct Neptune

It’s Sunday and the Taurus Moon is driving the day with a need to build and maintain material comfort and security.  Today the Moon makes only one connection: a conjunction with disruptive Uranus at 1:46 PM ET. Here’s how the rest of the week goes:

  • MONDAY: a bit of grumpiness in the morning, perhaps, as the stubborn drive of the Taurus Moon is energized or blocked by challenging squares to equally stubborn Mars and Saturn between 7 AM and 8 AM ET.  That might be reflected in your morning commute (as I’m hearing now — Monday — while editing this blurb for posting later today — which didn’t happen, despite efforts to the contrary, so this is shipping on Tuesday).  The big pattern in effect over the past several days is the 9:52 PM ET conjunction between Mars (action, aggression, courage) and Saturn (ambition, controls, losses). Mars-Saturn patterns can run hot and cold, as action is streamlined by a need for strategy. If you watched the Big Game between UNC and Duke on Saturday night, you would have seen this pattern made manifest in the pace of the action, with the two teams neck-and-neck until the final minutes.  Let’s see how this plays out in tonight’s championship game. You are more personally affected by the Mars-Saturn conjunction if you have planets or angles around 22 Leo, Taurus, Scorpio and especially Aquarius. That includes Sarah Palin, who just announced a run for Congress, and also Mitch McConnell and Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. McConnell has a Mars-Saturn conjunction at 21-22 Taurus; Jackson has Saturn at 22 Taurus. Moon enters Gemini at 11:04 PM ET on…
  • TUESDAY:  …driving the day with a need for information and conversation. At 11:17 AM ET, Venus – which refers to who, what and how we need to love – enters Pisces for the rest of April. Venus is high-functioning and happy in Pisces, hopefully reflecting  kinder, gentler social expression. Venus in Pisces is favorable for aesthetic choices – so keep that in mind if you’re thinking of updating your “look” for spring.
  • WEDNESDAY: Planetary patterns all this week support practical thinking and walking your talk, especially on Thursday (when Mercury sextiles Saturn)  and Friday (when Mercury sextiles Mars). You can apply this potential throughout today. Moon in Gemini continues to buzz, buzz, buzz — with support from Saturn and Mars at 5:56 PM ET at 8:26 PM ET. Moon squares Jupiter and Neptune at 8:41 PM ET and 10:53 PM ET, facilitating big dreams, empathy or delusions — then goes void on a proactive trine to Mars at 11:14 PM ET.
  • THURSDAY: the Mercury-Saturn sextile is exact at 8:37 AM ET, but the Gemini Moon is still chilling in the void until 11:30 AM ET. That explains any slow start, twist or flake to your morning routine. Once Moon enters Cancer, the gears officially shift — and we can focus on building emotional, home and family security. That focus gets a boost this around 4:19 PM ET, as compassionate Venus in Pisces trines the Moon.
  • FRIDAY: Mercury sextiles Mars — walking its talk — at 2:18 PM ET. Get your friends on board, as the Moon’s sextile to Uranus at 2:27 PM ET suggests. Tension builds late Friday night as the First Quarter Moon in Cancer – which needs emotional security – squares off against the pioneering derring-do of the Aries Sun at 2:47 AM ET on…
  • SATURDAY: …and, out of concern for that emotional security, adjustments to plans may be made. Meanwhile, Saturday morning may be inspiring, as Moon trines Jupiter and Neptune before noon ET. A power play, catharsis, purge or persuasive transformation may be on the menu tonight, as Moon makes its weekly clash with Pluto at 9:01 PM ET — then goes void for three hours, entering Leo one minute before midnight. Meanwhile, investigative journalists may be having a banner weekend as they publish a treasure trove of dirt that certain power players hoped would never see the light. That reflects Mercury’s square to Pluto, exact at 4:45 AM ET on…
  • SUNDAY:  The Leo Moon travels without interference all day. Now is the time to shine and help others shine, too. A Leo Moon can bring out our inner drama king or queens — which makes for a great party or an insufferable regal pronouncement. Today is the last day with Mercury (how we need to think and communicate) in me-first Aries; and we may see an urgency in communication, and perhaps hasty words that can’t be taken back. Mercury enters Taurus at 10:09 PM ET, here to stay until April 29th. Mercury in Taurus requires a more deliberate, earthy mindset. Note that by now we are just days away from the most significant planetary pattern of 2022: Jupiter-Neptune conjunct at 24 Pisces on April 12th. We haven’t had a Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Pisces in over 150 years. Here’s a bit from a forecast posted at the end of 2021:

We can also expect that all matters ruled by Jupiter will be colored by the energy of either Pisces or Aries next year. So if Jupiter refers to horses (which it does), we will see matters involving horses reflecting Pisces themes of empathy, victims, faith, etc. When Jupiter enters Aries, perhaps the word “warhorse” will capture our attention. Other Jupiter keywords include law, religious dogma, growth, generosity, the liver, the lungs, blood, hubris, reward, aspirations, counselors, and the all-important asparagus.

The Jupiter-Neptune conjunction of 2022 is likely to plant highly potent seeds for expansion in matters involving Neptune — some of which are echoed by Jupiter being in Pisces. Keywords for Neptune: illusion, scams, ideals, drugs, FAITH (not dogma, which is Jupiter-ruled), fish, film, intangibles, empathy, undefined forms, delusion, faith, healing, oceans, victims, poisons, plastic, oil, etc., etc., You are personally affected by this potent seed-planting if you have a planet or angle around 24 Pisces. This includes VP Kamala Harris, as the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction will square her 24 Gemini Ascendant.

Point is, we can’t ignore the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction this week, as it’s been humming in the background for a few weeks. Next week, it will be the ONLY planetary pattern happening that does not involve the Moon, except for Mars, which ditches Aquarius for Pisces on April 14th — and we will all likely end up with water on the brain.

And now, the news.

Whenever I describe challenging aspects between Mars and Saturn as potential for militant discipline, I’m referring to assertion and courage (upside) and guns, cars and aggression (downside). Given Russia’s barbaric invasion of Ukraine, I expected intense headlines, especially since Vladimir Putin’s horoscope is affected. Since the conjunction is in Aquarius, add in high-tech, aviation and — on the upside potential– the greater good for all, especially within a group.

Add in next week’s Jupiter-Neptune conjunction — very much in effect now:

  • “House passes bill to cap insulin prices.” Jupiter refers to the pancreas. Note that 193 Republicans voted against this bill; only 12 voted for it.
  • “House votes to decriminalize cannabis” — predicted years ago when Neptune first entered Pisces. I can’t see how this bill will not become law because astrology.
  • I’m finishing up this list of news items on Tuesday morning, and can report on that NCAA championship game,  which began just before the Mars-Saturn conjunction. It was a close finish — 72-69 — and what happened AFTER the Mars-Saturn conjunction became exact is that Kansas rallied from behind in the second half and overcame UNC. It’s fascinating to see how the NYT reported the battle, with words such as “miracle” and “divine light” — which reflect the Next Big Pattern — i.e.,  Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Pisces!
  • Randy Rainbow releases dazzling new song parody in response to Ron DeSantis’ bigoted authoritarianism. Comedy is a coping strategy for pain.
  • Beth Owl’s Daughter’s always-in-sync Tarot Card of the Week is The Hanged Man.

Finally…

Mick Mulvaney has been hired by CBS News to a be a paid political commentator. Mulvaney is the former guy’s former “Acting” Chief of Staff and would-be destroyer of the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, as Heather Cox Richardson explains– in a must-read Letter Stephen Colbert also has thoughts — presented in this must-see TV clip.  What does this have to do with astrology?

First, we can appreciate that the Sun-Mars square in Mulvaney’s horoscope — downsized by transiting Saturn in 2020, as I reported back then — is now being supercharged by transiting Pluto. Hence, the powerful platform he has just been given. Watch, as others with similar Pluto-Sun transits become more influential this year and next — e.g., Kellyanne Conway, Nikki Haley and Pete Buttigieg.

Second, as HCR and  Colbert point out, CBS — an alleged news organization — gave Mulvaney this platform based on their belief — as expressed by CBS News president Neeraj Khemlani  — that the Republicans will take over the House and Senate after the 2022 midterms, and having Mulvaney (and others of his ilk) will enable CBS to have access to these predicted victors…enabling a self-fulfilling prophecy. Jupiter-Neptune in Pisces plants seeds for make believe, as opposed to actual facts. Got that?

Of course CBS isn’t the only news network that puts power and profit above integrity. The real danger of doing so now — astro-logically speaking — is that the US horoscope is so vulnerable to delusion, with its already reality-challenged Mars-Neptune square being activated by transiting Neptune now. Delusion is likely to become even more provocative when Mars enters Gemini later this year and goes retrograde at the end of October. I couldn’t find a birthday for CBS News president Neeraj Khemlani, but he deserves to have an inbox filled with emails shaming him for following in the footsteps of disgraced CBS Chairman & CEO/accused sexual harasser Les Moonves, who famously said in 2016 “[the former guy] may not be good for America, but it’s damn good for CBS.”

Another potential for Jupiter conjunct Neptune in Pisces is surrender, as expressed in astrologer Bill Herbst’s latest essay.

That’s the news!
