Monday 8/2/2021: Sneak Peek at a Rock n’ Roll Week

Allll-righty then!

No sleeping in on MONDAY, as the Moon will not be void. At 4:46 AM ET, Moon leaves Taurus for Gemini, now seeking to get the word out about the material comforts it built while in Taurus. What’s that you say, WaPo “Breaking News Alert” at 9:45 PM ET on Sunday?Senate Finishing Crafting $1Trillion Bipartisan Infrastructure Proposal?” Well, that’ll give us something to talk about for a day or two, right? Buzz, buzz, buzz…the Moon in Gemini will get us all the facts and figures. There are likely to be highly charged discussions over pesky details, with Moon squaring Mars in Virgo at 9:30 AM ET. That’s it for exact planetary action today, though the Moon’s next aspect is a trine to Saturn, exact at 1:19 AM ET on TUESDAY.  This is useful for structuring and stabilizing your big communication initiative, so do that today.

The rest of the week is driven mostly by Uranus, as it makes contact with Venus, Mercury, and the Sun. We can expect disruptions, innovations, and rebellion, the latter in response to whatever controls came down last week under the sober hand of Saturn. Remember that Saturn (authority, control, streamlining) opposed Mercury and the Sun over the weekend, but those patterns were building all through last week. Though the Sun won’t make an exact square to Uranus until Friday night, the electric buzz is in the air from now until then.

Here’s how it goes:

  • TUESDAY: Moon in Gemini drives the whole day. At 2:53 AM ET, a trine (harmonious connection) between Venus and Uranus facilitates unconventional alliances — in effect as I type, according to that WaPo Breaking News Alert, right? Venus trine Uranus suggests an opportunity to be more open-minded, especially with respect to your fiercely-held values. Now is the time to imagine yourself in someone else’s shoes, and practice the art of saying “Yes…AND.” Don’t be afraid to improvise. Trust your instincts! After Moon trines Saturn at 1:19 AM ET, it harmonizes with Sun and Mercury, exact at 3:30 AM ET and 8:12 AM ET –– helping the information flow. Everyone’s a critic — perhaps — around 11:24 AM ET, as Venus in perfection-seeking Virgo squares the Moon. Mercury squares Uranus at 9:56 PM ET, suggesting tech breakthroughs and other disruptive communication. Processing the newsflash could be dreamy or just plain bewildering, reflecting the square between the Moon and Neptune, exact at 2:54 AM ET on…
  • WEDNESDAY. The Moon is still in Gemini, needing to be informed, clever, and intensely entertaining. It’s working hard to have something to cheer for by 3:37 PM ET when the Moon trines Jupiter. Not a bad day to make a pitch, especially if what you’re pitching is out-of-this-world. Your target audience may be more receptive than usual to reinventing the wheel. After a void of 1 hour and 40 minutes (blink and you’ll miss it), Moon enters Cancer at 5:17 PM ET. The next few days are driven by a need for emotional and home/family security concerns. Taking action on those needs is facilitated by a sextile between the Moon and Mars, exact at 1:12 AM ET on…
  • THURSDAY. There are no exact aspects among the planets today, except for the Moon’s sextile with Uranus at 10:12 PM ET. A sextile suggests cooperative communication, and between the Moon and Uranus, perhaps we’ll see news of innovative approaches to feeding and/or housing the world, in a true humanitarian spirit. Humming in the background is the buzz of the Sun’s square to Uranus, exact at 7:57 PM ET on …
  • FRIDAY. Watch for disruptions of the status quo involving aviation, astrology, leaders of state and business. Seismic activity would not be surprising, nor would surprises! Humming in the background of the Sun-Uranus square is an opposition between Venus and Neptune, which may have some wearing rose-colored glasses all weekend. Yearning for a dreamy nostalgic escape seems fitting for a day with Moon in Cancer, especially before 2 PM ET, when Moon will sextile Venus and trine Neptune (the latter happens at 1:43 PM ET. The next few hours suggest a build-up to a powerplay or emotional catharsis, as Moon opposes Pluto at 6:11 PM ET and then goes void for the next 9 hours and 20 minutes. Perhaps the Moon void will take the wind out of the sails of whatever upset the exact Sun-Uranus square will reflect around 7:57 PM ET. During the Moon void, roll with the twists and flakes that may disrupt your efforts to move forward in a straight line. Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill. Remember that crises which crop up during Moon voids often resolve themselves on their own once the Moon gets back into gear…
  • SATURDAY: …which it does at 3:31 AM ET, when it enters rip roarin’ Leo. Moon in Leo needs to shine, shine, shine — and know that it is loved by adoring subjects. Pay someone a compliment and watch it be returned a thousandfold. Find a stage upon which to play, or make room for a drama king or queen. Just be aware Mars will be at 5-6 degrees of Virgo, activating the lunar eclipse we had on May 26th. If you have a planet or significant point around 5-6 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces, you may experience a surge of action in a matter related to the area of your horoscope where that May eclipse occurred. Consult your local astrologer for details. Note that at 9:49 PM ET, the Leo Moon is opposed by Saturn, throwing a wet blanket or a stern executive order on someone’s festive parade. Also note that we are in the balsamic phase of the lunar cycle, during which we may feel listless or restless, feeling that something new is about to begin, but it’s not clear what. These dark nights — with no light shining from the Moon– are apt for activities you’d prefer remain under the radar, and you can be sure there will be significant clandestine meetings going on.
  • SUNDAY: Some of those hidden affairs may be brought to light anyway, courtesy of the disruptive square between the Moon and Uranus at 7:04 AM ET. In the aftermath of that shake-up, the New Moon in Leo kicks in at 9:49 AM ET. I’ll post a forecast about that event sometime over the weekend. There are no other exact patterns among the planets on this day. However, Mercury will be nearing the end of Leo for the next few days, going over the regal action reflected by Mars when it was at the end of Leo during the last week in July.  Everyone who was provoked that week — i.e., people with planets at the end of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius — will likely have something to say as a follow-up to whatever happened then. Examples: Nancy Pelosi, Mitch McConnell, Adam Kinzinger and the former guy.

Do you have planets at the end of Leo? What’s going on in your horoscope these days?

And now, the news. While on vacation, I confess I haven’t been as glued to the newsfeeds as usual, but Heather Cox Richardson’s daily Letters from an American covers all the major political points, as you’ll see.

As anticipated, public officials are enacting mandates in an effort to get Covid under control. A pithy person on Twitter remarked that one upside of having so many new variants is that we will all learn the letters of the Greek alphabet,  while a snarky one wondered what would have happened if some Londoners during the Blitz had said, “Yeah, I’ll turn my lights on at night if I feel like it, thank you very much.” To understand the astro-logic of why these expansive efforts to keep something airborne under control are happening NOW, think about Jupiter (expansion) in Aquarius (an Air Sign), and its relationship to Saturn (control). In modern astrology, Uranus is the planetary ruler of Aquarius, but before humans became aware of Uranus, Aquarius was considered to be ruled by Saturn. Note that Saturn is in Aquarius now, along with Jupiter. Because Saturn is in a sign it rules (traditional astrologers still consider Aquarius to be ruled by Saturn), it functions with high efficiency.

What does this have to do with Jupiter in Aquarius? I’ll tell you. In the language of traditional astrology, whenever any planet is in Aquarius, it is said to be disposited (this is the technical term) by Saturn. (Modern astrologers consider Uranus to be the dispositor of any other planet in Aquarius). A dispositor is like a supervisor; it oversees the action of the planet in its sign. Here, Jupiter is in Aquarius, a sign ruled by Saturn. Jupiter represents the energy of expansion, and thus when it is in Aquarius, its expansive efforts may be aligned with Saturn’s agenda. Saturn is in Aquarius, seeking to structure and control networks of data and people for the good of humanity (this would be an upside potential). Point is, the minute Jupiter re-entered Aquarius, we can appreciate why the idea of imposing controls on something in the air for the sake of the collective would take hold. Because Saturn influences Jupiter when Jupiter is in Aquarius. Clear?

Meanwhile…

As anticipated in the last forecast, the former guy made big news. Congress can finally get his tax returns, said the DOJ — and  oh, yeah, notes from acting deputy general Richard Donoghue revealed that the former guy asked the DOJ to declare the election corrupt and “leave the rest to me and the R[epublican] Congressmen.”

Jupiter expands whatever it touches; last week it opposed Mars, which represents assertion, aggression, action, cars, warriors and other “yang” expressions.  The House Select Committee investigating the January 6th attempted coup on the Capitol aptly began with “explosive” testimony from four law enforcement officers, detailing their experience defending the Capitol from the attackers, as HCR explains here and here.

The Mars-Jupiter opposition was an apt backdrop for the Olympics, obviously. I wasn’t surprised by Simone Biles withdrawing from competition, given that transiting Neptune is oh-so-close to a conjunction with her Pisces Sun. That can suggest a wipe-out — or at least feeling lost, and it’s fascinating to see how many media outlets reported that she was “lost in the air” during her opening vault a few days ago.  We don’t have a confirmed birth time, but we do have a proposed 4 Sagittarius Ascendant conjunct Pluto, opposed by a 2 Gemini Moon, all of which would be affected by the May 26th eclipse. It seems Biles will compete today on the balance beam, with transiting Mars squaring this speculative Ascendant-Pluto opposed by Moon. Transiting Mars is definitely squaring her natal Pluto, so we can appreciate why she is spurred to take action now.

In other Mars-Jupiter opposition news, I noted an uptick in shootings and car accidents in recent days. You?

Finally, reflecting the heavy potential affecting leaders of state and/or business suggested by the weekend’s Saturn opposition to the Sun, Heather Cox Richardson’s Sunday post was a tribute to Dr. Robert Parris Moses, the civil rights activist and mathmetician who died over a week ago. Born on January 23, 1935 in Harlem, we can see the potential for him to serve as a humanitarian warrior for peace. Moses was an Aquarius, driven by Moon in perfection-seeking Virgo. Moon may have been conjunct Neptune (hence the visionary potential). His Mars was in Libra (the potential “warrior for peace”) trine Mercury and Venus in wonky Aquarius. He was born with Uranus square Pluto; here is the potential revolutionary, along with others in his generation, and those born in the mid-60s, and those born on the last Uranus-Pluto square of 2011-2016 (just wait until those kids grow up). I was either not familiar with Dr. Moses’ work — or whatever I learned about him in school was long-since forgotten. I am grateful to HCR for making sure her readers understand now who he was and what he did for humanity.

Thank you for reading this forecast. Here’s the 411 on personal consultations.
